He might be my no.1 target to replace Che this summer, if we don't get promoted. He'll be 29 later this year, so I'm not convinced he'll have much PL interest. And I'm also not convinced that Blackburn are in a position to demand a particularly massive fee. He reminds me a lot of Ings. Both in terms of his finishing and his running.
Oh my word. Pears, the Blackburn keeper, has swung his leg at the ball and completely miskicked it. The ball spins behind him into the net. 3-1 to Wednesday
It feels weird (and dirty) wanting Leeds to win tonight. Not an outcome I'd have been hoping for a few days ago. If Leeds can win three out of three, I think they'll just steal 2nd from Ipswich. And I think that's the outcome I want.
That would be great, of course. But realistically, it has an almost zero percentage chance of happening. We're going to finish in the play-offs, and I don't want Leeds joining us. The majority of Ipswich's great comebacks this season - against the likes of us, Bristol City, WBA and Cardiff - have come at home. They won't get that advantage at Wembley. Yes they've taken six points from us this season, but we can beat them on neutral turf, should it come to it.
I don't think we should worry too much about who finishes 3rd or 4th (ie other than us), the chances are 3rd v 4th in the final, but it could so easily be 5th v 6th. To get to the final we first have to beat either Norwich or WBA over two games (possible..well actually probable) IF we do that a final vs Leeds, Leicester or Ipswich is on the cards, but I really feel it won't be any of them IF we get that far. What I am trying to say is IMO the final won't be 3rd v 4th. It will be 3rd or 4th v 5th or 6th.
Yeah, just look at the league fixtures. We failed to win either match vs Norwich. Ipswich failed to win all four matches vs Norwich and WBA. Leeds failed to win either match vs WBA.
Why is it these things always seem to happen after our most frustrating screw ups! (I’m aware this isn’t a full time result and there is a long way to go)
