They should be in the Cup Final. It should only apply when there is clear daylight… who decides at which fraction of a moment the ball has left the foot? Let’s hope they take a couple of weeks to get over that.
As sorry as I feel for them and gutted that once again, the big team cheats it way through, I can't help but be happy, physically and mentally draining, then hull Wednesday, Blackburn away Saturday and us on following Tuesday!!
I hate VAR on principle. The powers that be would be better off looking at the fundamentals of the offside rule.It was introduced to stop goalhanging (anyone remember that from their school playground days?)Unless the attacker is gaining a clear advantage from being “offside” let’s do away with these attempts to measure gnat’s cocks margins of error!
I don’t even like the concept of interference. Truth is, if a player is present the defenders and goalkeeper have got to watch them and change their positioning to cover them. Therefore they are always interfering. When interference was introduced, it was for the case where someone was tying their bootlace or running back as the ball was played over the top, not for running across the six yard box in a packed penalty area!
Who said "If a player's not interfering with play, what are they doing on the pitch?" Although we've had the odd player down the years whose contribution to the game has been questionable!
If I was a Forest fan I would be absolutely fuming after yesterday! 3 Stone bonking pens turned down. I thought VAR was meant to be the answer not the problem! God help us if we do go up!
I'll tell you now JW, if and it's looking very likely you will go up, it won't just be var that drives you up the wall, the reffing decisions favouring the so called elite clubs, will drive you to despair. I know a few Leeds fans that aren't that bothered if we don't go up, rather be a top team in this league than whipping boys in the PL. Personally I want to go up , sucker for punishment, but mainly because you can only be a top boy for so long before you lose all your talent and replace with distinctly average and soon become also rans.
And it will only get worse. Shame those 6 didn't feck off to the super league and we could have had a reset but it's all gone too far now. As with Man City, the PL want the winners of the CL to come from its product to raise its profile even more, they were the best chance it had of achieving this, so they've let them get away with murder.
With the right acquisitions and being able to keep hold of your manager, there's no reason you can't be a Brentford but other than that without a serious sugar daddy, you won't be allowed to. Leicester was a one off and they still weren't able to keep it going.
We spent three seasons moaning about VAR and then this season wishing we had it when you see the blatant penalties we’ve not been given. The truth is it’s there for the top teams, that’s not me being bitter, it genuinely favours them more times than not. It’s a huge failed system, technology works for cricket and tennis as it eliminates all human decision, VAR still relies on an “opinion” of an individual
