And the only trophy our club has ever won is one of the biggest cup final upsets in history. Blasphemy not believing in the underdog.
If you have to slow it down, look at it frame by frame, and draw a line across then it’s not clear and obvious. The on pitch decision should stand, but I just hate VAR.
There could be traffic and rail chaos on Cup Final day, with tens of thousands of Man City fans coming from Manchester, together with further tens of thousands of Man Utd fans from, er, Surrey
If it was Chelsea in the final, I would have wanted Coventry in the final. They would have had a genuine shot. In fact, if it was anyone but City I would have been willing on Coventry. It's just the idea of a City v Coventry final just gave me no excitement at all. City v United isn't a great final either, especially as we had it last season as well but it's my preferred option. I understand I'm in a minority but I'm allowed to have a different view.
Okay great but you're kind of missing the whole point of what the FA cup stands for. It wouldn't have mattered if City beat Coventry. Coventry dumping out Utd in the semi final from 3-0 down would have been the most incredible story in the history of the cup. That's what it is all about. Kind of poignant that it happens in the same week that the Premier League tries to weaken the competition because, you know, money etc.
Can’t remember the last time I watched a cup game Saints weren’t involved with anyway. That won’t change with this cup final, or if Coventry got there to lose by double figures. I sort of agree with Tom that it will be better for the neutral in that it should be more of a game, City obviously being big favourites. But as I wouldn't watch anyway have to feel a bit for Coventry
Well if you’re calling a team losing to someone in the same division an upset then yes. Kind of shows how bad football has become if you are considering that as a big cup upset
Absolutely. A team with Mara & Djenepo (I genuinely forget who else) playing, we should've been slaughtered, but you're right in what you say, it's a sad sign of where football has gone in that win was considered an upset.
This was taken from the official Nottingham Forest account. Ouch. I haven’t seen it so can’t judge if they have overreacted or if they have a point. “Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn't change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.”
Yes I think we all know that football is dead as a competitive sport at the top level, unless you support one of about 4 teams. Think it’s just habit that keeps people coming back
It's those rare moments of joy that make it worth it, there will always be 20-30 odd thousand turning up at SMS. It's not about glory hunting for a club like Saints.
