Krul 10 - Best young keeper in the league, just sensational!
R.Taylor 5 - Absolute ****e at times, kept getting skinned and made a couple of sloppy errors. For me, Santon should start over him in the next game.
S.Taylor 9 - Battled so hard for the rest of the team and made some wonderful blocks, so unlucky for the goal.
Coloccini 9 - Another composed defensive performance, coped well with the pacy Hernandez.
Simpson 7 - Not the best of games, but a wonderful goal line clearance.
Jonas 7 - Good first half, but poor second half. Deserved both yellow cards and will be missed next week!
Cabaye 7 - Battled well and kept the ball nicely, another solid performance from him.
Guthrie 7 - Same as Cabaye, played well.
Obertan 7 - Great first half, he caused Evra all kinds of problems. Faded in the second half though.
Ba 7 - Led the line well, got himself a goal and had a good volley attempt in the first half.
Ben Arfa 8 - Our best attacking player, made some good runs and although it shouldn't have been a penalty...it was a terrific run!

    Subs
Sammy 5 - Not the best from him and for me shouldn't have been brought on unless it stayed 1-0.
Perch 6 - Played well and put in a few good challenges. Much better in centre mid than centre back.
Lover 4 - Poor and shouldn't have come on.

Aye I think it's time for Santon, we stuck by Raylor for today's game and he wasnt particularly good this time either.

I missed that, the BBC mentioned it in their match report, my internet connection went down from the 7th to the 15th minute, I assume it happened then?

I think so, lovely little chipped pass, and with hindsight Ba might have scored had he hit it across the goal.

Krul - Nothing he could do about the goal. Faultless. 10/10
Simpson - Just for the goal line block. 8/10
Saylor - Just one of those days that Saylor comes alive. Last ditch blocks are his specialty. 8/10
    Colo - Just Colo. 8/10.
Raylor - Probably isn't going to face better wingers all season. Decent. 6.5/10
Obertan - Great first half. Was the best player on the pitch. Faded understandably. 7/10
Cabaye - Solid. A few interceptions. Decent play. 6.5/10
Guthrie - A solid shift. Very good passing, especially in the first half. 7/10
Jonas - Red card, but his general play was poor as well. 5/10
Ben Arfa - Could have distributed the ball earlier a few times, but very good i possession and won the penalty. 7/10
Ba - Very cool head for the penalty and good hold up play. 7/10

Solid performance and most of their good chances came after the sending off.

I thought Cabaye was better than Guthrie today.

I thought they were both pretty average today, just plugged away getting in some tackles but nothing spectacular.

Krul - 10 - Flawless, even his kicking was perfect today.

Simpson - 8 - More like a 7 but that off the line save gets him the extra point.
Saylor - 9 - Endless streams of blocks, clearances and tackles. One of the very best English CBs right now.
Colo - 8 - Great, calm and collected as usual.
Raylor - 6 - To be fair on Raylor he probably won't have a tougher time all season, but he made a few sloppy ****ups and some positional mistakes today too.

Obertan - 7 - Lively, dangerous and all round great first half, invisible in the second until he was subbed off.
Guthrie - 8 - His work may have gone unnoticed but some of his passing and challenges were really brilliant.
Cabaye - 7 - Quiet for periods here and there but some of his passes were beauties. Solid game all round.
Jonas - 6 - Both yellows were definite yellows, he didn't seem his usual self today but still put in a lot of effort.

Ben Arfa - 8 - Looked very dangerous and again showed some supreme passing and playmaking skills.
Ba - 6.5 - Didn't seem to win much in the air and his first touches were mostly poor today. But he buried his penalty well so I guess we'll forgive.

Lovenkrands - ? - Didn't even notice he was on the pitch.
Sammy - 5 - Didn't really do all that much.
Perch - 5.5 - Not bad, not good either. Made the odd tackle but nothing that somebody else could have made. Also did anybody else notice him go to blast the ball towards our own goal from outside the area but it was luckily blocked en route <laugh>. ****ing hell, Perch!

Guthrie shadowed away in the second half, but he was really decent in the first half, played some epic passes to Obertan and did some good defensive work.

    This <ok>

Without Jonas tracking back against Chelsea we really need a solid defensive full back and sadly Raylor doesn't fit the bill. Santon time!

This. Raylor worried me today, and was poor against City. Against Chelsea with Mata on the wing we need an actual fullback, especially with Jonas not there to cover him.

Will it be just a 1 match suspension for 2 yellows?

Yeah I think it's one automatic match suspension. <ok>

    I agree.. I think it's Santon TIME!

BUT I have a gut feeling Pards will stick with the same team and put Sammy on the left-hand side with Raylor at left-back again.. and he'll leave Best and Tiote on the bench IMO with Guthrie's current form.

Krul 9- Superb today, his saves literally kept us in the game, his kicking still needs work though.

Simpson 8- Still backed off A LOT but his goal line clearance alone was worthy of a high rating.

Taylor 9- My MOTM, absolutely spot on today, didnt do much wrong at all and made some literally world class interceptions.

Coloccini 8- Not quite as good as Taylor but very close, made the slightest of mistakes but was generally on the ball as per usual.

Raylor 6- Not as bad as people are making out but I would say his time has come, its time for Santon to get his go because Raylor is leaving that left side very exposed at times.

Obertan 7- Thought he was our biggest attacking threat in the first half and he did very well to get the ball into the box. I'm more impressed with him every time I see him, second half he faded a bit, but still a good performance.

Cabaye 7- Made some great interceptions but again was a little bit anonymous for me, still played some great balls though, just surprsingly outclassed by the average "UNITED" central midfield today.

Guthrie 7- Would say very similar to Cabaye, coped with the pressure well and during his last 3 games has performed on equal footing with Cabaye, Pardew has some decisions to make when our full selection is available for sure.

Gutierrez 6- Normally I dont mind when his attacking play suffers because I know that hes helping out defensively but I realised today and for a couple of games before today that he hasnt really been as good defensively either, thought he was generally poor in all areas but occasionally looked decent.

Ben Arfa 6- He's getting unusually high reviews again but I really cant see what for? He made a very decent lobbed pass to Demba Ba in the first half but apart from that all he seems to do is slow the play down, he gets the ball and doesn't have a clue how to proceed or over runs the ball and loses it, I'm hoping this is just a lack of match sharpness but ATM, hes not doing much for the team IMO.

Ba 7- Took his penalty well and dropped deep throughout the game to help out the defence and midfield, made a few forward runs but was fouled by the "UNITED" players. Very decent performance all round from Demba, and another game without injuries for him is always nice.

Lovenkrands 3- Absolute dump of a player, dont understand why he was brought on, lost the ball carelessly for Hernandez's disallowed goal and was generally awful.
Sammy 6- Didnt get into the game much but made a few good runs and clearances in the time he was on.
Perch 6- Didnt see much of him but didnt drop any clangers again which is progress for the lad.

How people are slating Obertan is beyond me. He was class in first half and the fact that his crosses weren't finding anyone seems less down to his deliveries and more to other people's positioning. A lot of those crosses were crying out for a head.

^^^ This. Think that he's a bit off pace and he'll get better and better...

Jonas looked really poor today... ever since the Stoke game he's been a different player. Is he carrying an injury or is he suffering from exhaustion?

Guthrie/Cabaye: Their passing was really good especially in the first half but I feel that both of them should be winning more tackles to break up play

Krul: MOM , but needs to work on his distribution though...
