Sod VAR. Makes me want to lose the playoffs. That moment has been taken away from History by a man in a room drawing a line on a screen.
Why? It shouldn't have been close. He was looking across the line. No need to make it that close. And he was offside - it was lazy from the attacker. He had to ensure he was onside.
It was also lazy from the attacker. He should have ensured he was onside. No issues with VAR here. He was offside - fact.
Horrendous for the Coventry fans in the stadium. But when it first got played through I thought it was offside. If the linesman gets the decision right and puts his flag up that moment of despair never happens.
The big problem I have with those offside calls is that there is no way the frame rate is good enough to get the exact moment a ball leaves his foot. If the lines are touching like that it should be onside
Football is cruel, it really is. Still, the media will be happy and ****ing themselves off collectively at the thought of a Manchester derby cup final.
City v Coventry would be an awful final anyway. Gutted for Coventry, but for the neutral the better result.
