You know the vocal minority will moan if we appoint him and go on about his current form We could appoint klopp and some of our fans would moan about that hes only won 1 league title with Liverpool Some times managers need to go through a bad run of form to improve, hes still young so will be learning all the time Rohl is still my 1st choice
Agreed. Don't get the clamour for him either. If we were going french league I'd sooner have Eric Roy.
Yes but i doubt Roy will want to go from potential Champion League football to the battles of the Championship
Annoys me when people just look at form over a small sample size and decide a coach or a player is **** while not taking into account any circumstances at all. The job Still has done since taking over is nothing short of unbelievable, same with Rohl, but people have over the last few days questioned both because of form or league position. Ridiculous.
Phil Parkinson was mentioned earlier. He's won 8 of the last 13 (and only lost a couple of those) but no one would have him back at Sunderland. A run of poor results doesn't necessarily make him a poor manager/Head Coach.
Exactly, i just dont get it Id understand it if someone watches the French league loads and isnt a fan of his but most just google there results n judge on that
I still like Rosenior, intelligent young manager doing a good job with Hull got them an outside (very outside but still) chance of getting in the playoffs. I think he'd do well with our squad.
He may learn more from a run like this more than a successful one. There are probably things that he’ll reflect on that are mistakes he may not make. Plus there might be less competition for him.
Unsure on Rosenior mind. His squad is, for me, the best outside of the 3 relegated sides and they won't get into the playoffs. Style of play is incredibly boring as well
Partly agree. But at any level of football 2 wins in 13, for a side previously harbouring hopes of relative success, you would want to understand what is behind that. We all know managers live and die on results in the here and now, not on any past success. He cant just get a free pass with our fans because he is the favourite for the job, it is ok to point to his recent results. My view is it looks like they have fallen away in their league campaign and as a prospective future coach here I would like to know what he has been trying to do in these games. Like you say coaches have bad runs, it is how they operate in that period that can be insightful.
This is that thing again about understanding all of the circumstances behind why things have happened, that I feel I often post about. Just as much as he shouldn't get a free pass, he shouldn't be written off just on the basis of what the results look like.
Speaking as someone who would be happy if he was appointed, Reims seem to lose control of games quite easily. His gameplans and setups against good teams are good, but sometimes in games where they should dominate they sometimes just lack the ability to dominate the ball and take the sting out of games. Lack goals also. Whether these are personnel issues or a tactical issues i'm not so sure.
I agree it's unlikely they'll get in the playoffs but it's definitely possible, win their game in hand and they're 3 points off 6th with 2 games left. Point is he's got them competing at the right end of the table at the business end of the season. Not sure having a good squad is a negative, they've spent a bit (less than us apparently) but hardly doing a Man City. I've thought they looked a decent watch when I've seen them and as far as I know their fans are happy with him.
