Bit like Rangers here who always seem to get one awarded.
After their 0-0 draw with Dundee last night the joke going around was "Who missed the penalty?"

    Villa lucky to get through.

Decisions seemed to go their way too.

Martinez got booked twice but the first yellow doesn't count if you are cautioned in a penalty shoot out

I think they won something - they certainly know how to celebrate...

Good for them. I wonder if other clubs will have the guts to put out similar public statements?

I think a few have from League one and two .

Sounds like they are now trying to say the EFL were included in the discussions .

    All a right old mess.

And now about money ofcourse .

Part of the EFL statement on F.A. Cup replays:

"In September 2023, the EFL did initially discuss with Clubs potential changes to the FA Cup format but only as part of a wider and more fundamental change to financial distributions. As is now clear, there has been no movement in this area since September."

"A separate issue is the role of the EFL representatives on the Professional Game Board (PGB) in agreeing to the 2024/25 overall fixture calendar. PGB is there to make technical decisions across the game as opposed to key policy decisions such as competition changes or formats.

Any decisions taken on the calendar involving EFL representatives are in no way an endorsement of the joint deal agreed between the FA and Premier League that imposes changes to the FA Cup competition format in isolation.

As part of the discussions the EFL representatives did challenge the position and were told that Clubs would be comfortable with no replays. They were effectively advised that, as a result, of it being an FA competition, the fixture list needed to be agreed as presented. It is also important to note that this matter was not discussed by the FA Cup committee, a separate group that oversees the competition across the professional and national game."

It’s interesting the PL clubs and managers are in agreement with the idea but many lower league ones aren’t.

Not much from the Championship sides really but guess reaction might be mixed depending on priorities.

Knowing us Scott Duxbury will say one thing and then Gino thinks the opposite!

Boreham Wood relegated after failing to beat Ebsfleet. I wonder if that will be the start of a slide down the divisions for them?

Choudhury instrumental in Leicester winning and going top. If they win promotion I wonder if they'll dump him again.

The chase for the Highland League title is really going down to the wire. Buckie and Brechin both leading 1-0 at half time, but Fraserburgh not making life easy for them. Needing both to lose, and win by 10 goals to leapfrog them both and take the title - they're leading 8-0 at half time.

10 minutes in to the second half and they're leading 10-0 - Buckie and Brechin must be sweating

Buckie held on to their 1-0 lead to win the title, with Brechin 2nd after their 2-1 win.
A mighty effort from Fraserburgh though - they won 11-0 and kept the pressure on the top two.

Just watched the semi final .

Didn''t Grealish give away a penalty last year for less of a handball in the final?

    Jammy City.

    Chelsea should have won.

After their 1-0 defeat at Verona last night, Udinese have sunk back down into the relegation mire - in 17th spot just one point ahead of the bottom three.

If they go down, I wonder if any of their players will end up with us? Although they can keep Success, Kabasele, Davis and Okoye as far as I'm concerned.

It seems that the fabled scouting network is just failing to find players good enough for them.

I wonder why the council will not give security of tenure to the club? It seems a huge shame that the efforts on the pitch are wasted by something outside their control.
