I'm not quite sure what point you're making but if you have bills due and you try to say "It's not about the money" I think the creditors will suggest otherwise. The point others - not me - made in this thread was that replays are important because of the money they provide to keep clubs running for years. I didn't bring money into it.

There's money you can earn and then there's money you get given by the big boys so that you stay out of the way. It was said that when north Ferriby got to Wembley it cost them more to go, stay and play there than they got in winnings from the FA. Why do so many games take place at Wembley? Because the FA overpaid for the reconstruction and need the money to pay for it, unfortunately the FA sold the golden egg of first division football and have to rely on on handouts from the Premier league. Football needs a root and branch overhaul, kicking out all those that initially signed up for the European super league would be a good start.

The FA Trophy Final could be played anywhere, it was never a Wembley core event and it probably costs them more to stage than they can recoup (it’s at Wembley for prestige, not for money).
So both the FA and the clubs lose money, the fans have to pay more to see their team than necessary. What sort of mickey mouse business strategy is that. Oh I know we can just go to the Premier league with a begging bowl and get a few quid to spread around.
