I’m off to a national trust place near me or a place with some MtB trails(Forrest Pines) keep off the road with the mountain bike and not done enough to go out on road bike yet.
I had a read up on General Anesthetic and wondered why you couldn't eat or drink beforehand, hence your nil by mouth, especially with head injuries if you need surgery. It appears GA stops all your reflexes, so that means anything you have consumed could potentially go in your lungs, because you can't do things like cough etc. Hence why they always ask you if you have loose teeth, dentures and all the other stuff. Many years ago I had to have a camera shoved down my neck because I'd had some problems, so now I'm always conscious of not eating after 10pm the night before, even though it's not a requirement - I just think why risk it, although I can't avoid drinking water, because I dehydrate too quickly, which then means they struggle to get a line in my arm - so I always come home looking like i've been beaten up by the nurses lol. All interesting this stuff with you and Gessa, very admirable being sporty like that, sadly like Luv, I bought a comfortable sofa. Although how I never killed myself on a motorbike is another story, I always look back and think I was very lucky.
last time i was scheduled for a GA i was allowed to drink water but only water until quite close to the scheduled op time - not that it ever happened on any of the 3 scheduled days so in effect i had a dieting holiday courtesy of the NHS
Had a long op scheduled for Jan 2013. Had to drink 1000ml of some carbohydrate drink at 6am ready for the op at 12:00. Was restricted to 750ml a day at the time so guzzlers it down, was just getting prepped in shower and had a knock on door, op was off.
once went 11 days (2 before op 9 after ) without food and for 6 of those days i was given 5ml of water every hour and i mean every ****ing . Then it went up to 10ml luckily only for another couple of days
Been off playing golf. Doesn't matter if you play ****e, this is just the most cathartic place to be. Literally soothes my being.
I took a trip as a tourist to Moscow and "Leningrad".They put the Brits in with the Yanks. The Yanks were Naval personnel and my future wife (from Harlan,Kentucky) was one of them. She blamed the Russians from then on!!!!!!! Funny thing. One country I never wanted to go to? The USA.Now I've been here for ever!
Good morning. The sky is blue, the birds are singing, children are laughing, everyone outside is talking about our win over Preston.
Saw a lad once who’d broken and dislocated his jaw from ploughing chin first into the deck after misjudging a jump. He couldn’t even scream properly from the pain because his face was so mangled.
