Being an advocate of Buddhism, I think Russell would approve of Sri's pre match team talk. Sri knows his football, this quote could have been conceived with us in mind. "Ours is a divine journey; therefore, this journey has neither a beginning nor an end... This journey has a goal, but it does not stop at any goal, for it has come to realise that today's goal is only the starting point of tomorrow's journey." Sri Chinmoy
You don’t think we should be saving anyone for playoffs? If Downes aggravates an injury then we might be out of the playoffs. If Downes is match fit play him, if not then play Charles.
I think that's what I said. I don't think he should not play today as a precaution for future games if he is fit to play.
I would prefer to have a fully fit Downes for Tuesday than play him today and not have him for the last 3 games and potentially the playoffs. My main issue with Charles has been that he seems to think that he has more time to play the ball than he actually does, which can lead to him being dispossessed or hurrying a pass that goes astray or puts a teammate under pressure. Having said that I would give him the nod over JS or WS, in the 6 role.
Siri, who should Saints buy in the transfer window? It's as likely to succeed as some of our scouting....
A very good point! The word ‘should’ does not have an entry within the dictionary used by long established Saints fans. It took a real hammering especially after the 1976 Final as all the evidence and expert punditry used it countless times in our expected demise at the hands of MU. From then on it slipped out of use more or less entirely.
Can’t complain too much with that. Wouldn’t have Brooks or Smallbone starting personally but not end of the world
