Which on field results has he damaged? He’s been injured most of the season. He’s blatantly your scapegoat for some reason and I have no idea why. He’s a very good player on his day. According to Mowbray, best we have at the club. But I guess you know more than he does!
By best do you mean most talented? Taking the word at face value he's nowhere near the best player at the club but talent wise he's up there. For what it's worth I tend to agree with Sour Patch's view, he's offered so little this season it's hard to defend. If he was 17 fine you expect inconsistency but at his age he should be delivering some kind of bare minimum.
Blackburn for one. Killed all attacking threat we had against Leeds and Bristol City after he came on. He's not my scapegoat, I don't have a scapegoat. He can be a good player on his day all he wants but we need players whose 'day' happens more regularly than zero times in a season.
Morning all happy match day from me. Thanks again RTB for a fantastic thread. Hopefully the lads can put in another good performance on the back of the win at WBA. If Neil is out styles for me in a more natural position for him. Let's see what he can do having played well at wba last week. I'm going for a home win. Enjoy the match everyone and keep the faith lads and lasses.
That is more what I was getting at. As I say, he’s had a very poor season, after being utterly brilliant last season. I wouldn’t play him, no way. But I won’t boo him either. It sure I’d lay a 5-1 defeat at his door! The entire team were woeful that day.
But wasn't that his first appearance after a long period out through injury? I would lay the blame at the head coach rather than the player on this occasion, because we could all see that PR was way off match fitness and shouldn't have even been on the bench. I agree that his performances this season have been poor, but he is a very talented player.
Haven’t bothered with the last couple of home games but I’m going today. Really hope we perform and show the determination we have in the last couple of matches. Ha’way the lads
Got off the train at Newcastle and straight onto the 10.41 for Sunderland ... ... sadly it was actually the 10.41 to Plymouth, happily not direct. Now on the train from Durham back to Newcastle
Just on the CS platform now and there's a bunch of Man City across the tracks ... ... it's going to be one of those weird days
Only 3 games left guys, so we need something to cheer us up. We are currently rock bottom of the League in the form guide for the last 5 home game stats. Only 2 goals scored....and 8 against us. We need some smiley goals today lads to give the home fans a lift. And we are due some cheer... Ha'way me bonny lads !!!
I hope the weather's as nice there for those attending as it is here. Laying slabs in the garden, was supposed to be done by now but it's been raining since January so I've got to take advantage of the dry day, but I'll be keeping an ear on it.
