Aye, he’s not bad Weller is he? His solo stuff reminds me of the 90s so much I feel like I’m almost there.
Wonderful mate. I have lots of favourite Weller stuff but this is my top performance based, almost entirely, on the girls in the string section ... "Mam, make sure you record me on the telly tonight, I'm backing Paul Weller!!!"
Interesting band, I'd never heard of them until I spotted they are on at the Fire Station on the 25th April.
From the Jam are playing The Fire Station in October, and Foxsy is still going. They will be playing my home town classic A Town called Malice.
Me lad text me "paul weller wannabe" I think they're fooking amazing. They're the closest group to capture the punk/indi/new wave raw era that hooked us back then imo.
@Smug in Boots, this is the live version I was on about. One of the things I love about this one, is the crowd. No phones in the air, just 1000's of fans enjoying an incredible performance.
What a gig that must've been, fabulous ... ... while I'm looking for my clip I came across this from my summer around the Med. It came on the radio all the drive through Italy then Sicily and Sardinia ... ... it's made me and Mrs Smug start thinking about driving down to Italy again this Autumn.
Enjoyed that. Strangely, I listen to quite a few songs that are sung in a foreign language....or rather sung by foreigners in their own language. I've no idea what they're singing about, but like the tone of their voice (I guess the same applies to opera). I like this lass, Polina Gagarina, but haven't the foggiest what she's singing about.
I like one of your choices but certainly not the other two ... ... anyway, what do I know, it's your funeral
