I did read yours and answered it. They don’t have to “waddle around like penguins” as you put it, some chose to put their arms behind their backs to prevent the ball hitting them.

If their arms are raised and the ball hits them the referee then has to make a decision. That’s just a fact. The ref was well placed and decided in her view the arm was in an unnatural position, that’s a subjective decision, and made in a split second.

Going by the rules as the stand on balance I think she made the correct decision, whether the rules are right, that’s a different debate.

I bet there’s been more debate on our boards about that penalty than on Huddersfield’s forums!!! <laugh>

It’s the same answer I gave originally, just worded slightly differently. It’s a subjective decision, I think it is, you obviously don’t. What’s not in doubt is it hit the hand. The ref agreed with me and gave a penalty, different people will have different views on whether it’s a natural position or not. That’s why I said it’s subjective.

Mad, people seem more annoyed at a decision in our favour than all the ones against us over the last few years, some of which were so blatant penalties as well, completely bonkers <laugh>

All those referees have watched the replays from various different angles and at different speeds to come to that conclusion.
Rebecca Welch didn’t have that luxury. She had a fraction of a second, with no VAR to consult.

Have they? I did not glean that. The consistent theme was that the Huddersfield players arm/hand was in a natural position. It appears unless HTFC are lying the PGMOL who oversee refs, and refereeing standards have written to HTFC stating the ref did get this decision wrong.

The ref appears to have made their own rule up for law twelve.

'Rebecca Walsh didn't have that luxury'.
    Who's arguing ?
The point is whether it should have been a penalty.
Whether we've had bad decisions against us (Ashton) is bloody daft.
Stick to the point...a stupid and ignorant decision.

It’s been done to death the penalty thing, it’s been given. For once a penalty decision went in our favour, move on.

Some people just like to moan, they moan when we don’t get penalties then moan when we do, FFS there’s no pleasing some <laugh>

One last time, I believe his hand was in an unnatural position, made himself bigger and the cross hit his hand, penalty was given, had it not been given I’d have been disappointed but would have accepted the decision, I suggest you do the same

When humans move our bodies our arms move. We use bipedal movement. To not display bipedal movement when moving would be unnatural. The player in question was displaying movement that was natural.

This isn't an explanation of why the players arm/hand is in unnatural a position.
