Villa do what the toon wouldn't and get a late important goal in a crucial game. Fancy villa will win the pot if they get through.
 
I think most teams from 1st to 10th in the PL would win the Conference League. Villa were a disgrace in that match, Lille are a better footballing team than them.

I'd rather we were in it and actually had a chance to win something, but unfortunately we ended up in a competition we had no chance of competing in.

That said I don't think Newcastle would win it anyway because we're not a successful club. The way Villa grinded that out isn't something I think Newcastle would do.

To be fair mate I think Brighton would win the conference league. Think even Fulham, Wolves would get far in it.

It's still a major trophy.... I'd swap finishing 4th for a trophy all day long. The fans of West ham and soon villa will have experienced the ultimate feeling of actually winning something.

Villa are becoming what Newcastle dream of being. Looks they'll get champions league and win a trophy this season.

The referee was the bigger disgrace for me. Absolutely shocking performance. Think he booked 42 players in the course of that one match. <laugh>
 
Hilarious antics during the Villa penalty shootout with Martinez ‘possibly’ getting a second yellow for shushing the Lille fans but then ‘possibly’ not being sent off as apparently match yellows don’t count in a penalty shootout.

‘Possibly’ as no one seems to know if the referee actually booked him in the shootout or was just giving him a final, final warning.

As I’ve said, the referee was abysmal.

Once it went to pens it was going to end with a Villa win. Martinez is the best keeper in the world if not he's not far off.

He's brilliant.

I honestly don’t think Villa will win it me mate. I think Fiorentina would do them. They look very poor in European games away from home.
