Even if we had won by 6 or 7, I still think we'd be faced with needing to win at Elland Road. Only drawing at Elland Road would mean finishing on a maximum of 94 points. I'm not convinced that will be enough for 2nd, even if it was to take us above Leeds. However, I do agree that I wish we'd scored more - because GD might yet be very important between us and Ipswich. It could be the difference between whether we need Ipswich to draw or to lose one of their remaining games.
According to the Boro lads at football, the Boro are down to the tea lady, several stewards and the head groundsman to play Leeds. Even weaker team than the one which drew with Saints. Maybe?
@Le Tissier's Laces is clearly the Cool Hand Luke of Match Day threads, holding back on showing his true colours until us lesser mortals start to question whether or not he possesses a winning combination of insightful knowledge about Cardiff, its football team, as well as places to visit, drink and generally make merry. I feel like I am one of those heralds with an oversized trumpet (get your innuendos here), publicising the arrival of LTL's next formidable edition of Saints' roadmap to victory. I realise that what we do here makes absolutely no difference to how the team plays - apologies if I've pulled back the curtain on The Wizard of Oz - but it keeps me occupied. I was going to say sane, but that's pushing it.
And yet it’s Thursday and there’s no match thread. Is it time for Andrew to stimulate some activity by releasing a solo tune? Not that I want to cause any rifts in the dream partnership
Our losing streak is still the same as our winning streak! Final chance to change that. From the start of the season: WDWWLLLLWWDWDWWWDWWDDWWWWDWWWWLWLLWWDLDWWW????
I thought that PNE were shocking on Tuesday. The win was comprehensive and, even if no goals were scored in the second half, we still outplayed them. It seemed like a practice match. If we ha been 5 nil up at alf time, PNE could not have complained. I enjoyed the match which was easily the most comfortable performance at home this season. At no point were he 3 points in doubt.
