Ill be shocked if dodds is the permanent manager, not done enough to deserve the job Im pretty confident itll be someone who is in a role at the minute
Hope you are right on both although I'd probably have some doleys but not please log in to view this image
I wouldnt be impressed at all if it were Dodds. Even if he won these next 3 games. He is a couple of years, at least, away from a head coach gig at a club targeting promotion to the premier league. Last 2 games have been good, but lets not forget the rest of them, a lot of which were awful. To date he has got us 12 points from his 12 games in charge this season. Beale managed 14 from 11 games, so lets not start imagining he is up to the job.
To be fair, he said that if we went for Dodds or Heckingbottom it would show we were going for the cheap option. I tend to think it would be the easy option.
same would not be impressed at all and it would prove without a doubt that we always do cheap option and have no ambition at all
We wont appoint him, im confident they have a clear no1 target in mind and want to get him. If dodds was the one they wanted they'd of appointed him They wont be influenced by a couple good results when the majority have been poor - in my opinion
I 100% agree. I think they probably do have a target, and maybe a very shortlist by now. I hope so anyway. My nagging doubt is their track record when it comes to appointments. Johnson served his purpose I think. They seemed to opt for Neil then get seduced by Keane, before finally getting him. Mowbray was good, but I wonder how much that was an appointment made out of convenience than planning. I dont think Beale was anywhere near their thinking when sacking Mowbray. It feels a weak spot to me so far, the process they go through. I might be being harsh. This one has to be right, no room for errors. Whoever they get has to be the man for the next 2 years and achieve this 5 year plan. I wonder if they have made use of an agent, or consultancy, to help them this time. We arent exactly full of know how in this space. I would like to think part of this process has been some third party input and guidance. Lets see.
I get that but theyve been spot on 75% of the time so im trusting theyll get this right It doesnt sound like Keane was ever in the running and i didnt mind them taking their time to get Neil in as he was the right appointment at the right time The beale appointment was shocking, for me it appears their main target(s) werent available so they panicked and appointment beale. This is the make or break appointment for speakman so he knows he has to nail it. I dont mind them taking their time over this one as long as they get it right It def points towards Still being their target so lets see what happens Im 99% sure it wont be Dodds
Still is their no1 target, got a feeling he will be the next appointment, there's been a mention of compensation, the club will know what that is in the summer. That's the reason they didn't get him before Beale. Still has already been in contact with the club, he knows the set up and what the club expect. I'm sure they will have had conversations since Beale was sacked, if there is any uncertainty from either party they would already know this. The club were quite clear when Beale was sacked that Dodds would take over till the summer, that indicated to me they already knew who they wanted and the option will only be available at the end of the season. I'm sure the club will still be speaking to other candidates as no matter have sure they are about Still, he hasn't signed on the dotted line. He could be all set to come and West Ham approach him, he'd be silly not to take that. So the club have to have a plan, B,C and D. If they get their way Still will be in the dug out next season
Someone over the road reckons he’s heard from the Heckingbottom himself that he is not who we are after. Make of that what you will.
Personally don't think we were ever after him, think kld/speakman want still. Seen what the poster otr said and he doesn't seem to be a poster that posts ****e but we will see one way or another
My guess is that he'd come if we wanted him with or without his staff. He won't get a job in the PL and wouldn't want to go to L1. He isn't capable of going abroad so he's looking at about a dozen Championship clubs at most. He's a mini-Mowbray imo and not an exciting prospect ... ... I don't think we ever considered him.
We certainly have him some thought after Mowbray as he came up here for talks. How serious those talks were, I have no idea.
I heard Speakman went to Europe for manager talks a few weeks back. Which would rule out someone like Rohl. And if it is taking so long surely its a manager in a job. It all points to Still or some outside shout.
