I’ve just had to spend £500 on that bike for a new rear hub, cassette, chain, front ring, bottom bracket, rear wheel rebuild, labour, vat etc. Like a ****in garage bill that ! but for reference that’s now a £3.5k bike

Like I’ve said before mate. There’s no accounting for what goes on in your head. I’m not sure why you take this unhealthy interest with my bike, car, house, finances etc. but suffice to say your assessment is well wide of the mark. There’s not a lot I can do about that other than leave you to it.
believe it or not, but £3k is very much middle of the market for a quality mountain bike these days. it would have been a few hundred quid cheaper but for Brexit and the associated import taxes but yeah, it’s a lot of beans and I paid it off over the course of a year. I just guess it depends what you’re into. Saf has just dropped £3k on a tattoo, some folk spend £3k on a sofa. The bike keeps me fit, physically and mentally and it’s my ticket to getting out and about and exploring.
