Interesting the diverse opinions over whether Israel should make a retaliatory strike against Iran. William Hague in the Times today argues Israel should stay on board with the surrounding Arab countries that helped Israel defend Iran's recent attack and suck it up. The Times comment recommends there should be a response by Israel if Iran is not to be encouraged, and appeasement is not the answer. Toss a coin
Unbelievable scenes in Brussels, where the Socialist mayor sends in police to close down a perfectly peaceful Conservative conference attended by, among others, Catholic bishops, Suella Braveman and Nigel Farage, because he doesn't like their politics and wants to cancel and silence them. This would be disgraceful in China, but in the EU... Really sinister restriction. So much for freedom of speech in the EU Thank God we left
What's ironic is that the city of Brussels, heart of the EU, is likely to be in breach of the European Human Rights Convention, stifling free speech. You couldn't make it up.
The organisers of the summit just might. Perhaps even defamation. There's a court case going on at the moment, so we'd see what that finds. But for me perspective, the world is seeing how authoritarian Brussels is. cf Russia and China
Unlike Khan, he cares about all the young people being murdered. Khan just cares about "respect" being shown to those who may carry a knife
