Think this should be a triple match thread, lemon-laces-shuttle as Jonny done the original thread for this game. Staying away from fires, this could turn an edgey 2-1 into a 5-3 triumph
Sam Barrott has been touted in the refereeing world as the next big thing - I know he's very highly rated. So he'll probably have an absolute mare!
Hopefully Preston having nothing to play for as of their last game out will be to our advantage and they’ll struggle to get up for this game so soon after. You’d like to think we can ride the wave of our last second winner, but not always easy to get the intensity right after last minute dramatics like that either. Charles back in the match day squad please Martin. Baz, Manning, Bednarek, THB, KWP, Downes, Smallbone, Stu, Edozie, Che, AArma. Need some changes with the short turnaround, and I like Fraser, Aribo off the bench more than Smallbone and any other wing option.
As much as I respect lemon/laces I just wonder if we shouldn't wheel in the big gun, Mr Loading, for these last few games. Just saying.
I still think Lemon Laces sound delicious, I might try and bake some Apart from that I’m not going to predict anything in this current period of madness I’m not even sure that the suns going to rise on Tuesday let alone whether we’ll win lose or draw COYS
These two are the big guns. Right at the beginning I said they are the Clough and Taylor of Match Day Threads and I haven't seen anything to change that. They are the steely eyed Poch brought in to replace the lovely Nigel. We all felt uncomfortable about it at the time but in the cold light of day we knew it was the right decision. This isn't the time for sentimentality, it's the time for results. Loading is out. Loading is to MDT's what Ralph was to Saints. He came in at a time following a series of losers with a sense of purpose that lifted a thread that had become listless. He soon showed his personality and the results flowed. Sure, he had his weaknesses but most of us knew he was working miracles with limited resources. We had found ourselves a writer. He once posted an article on the Liverpool board that went unanswered. He was seen shortly afterwards on his knees crying, overwhelmed in his moment of journalistic glory. He was as mad as a hutch full of rabbits but he was our Loading. Gradually though, his pronouncements became more and more eccentric and some thought his heart wasn't in it anymore. His threads that had promised so much early on regularly ran out of steam in the later stages. There were rumblings of discontent and the need for change. On a cold night in February the not606 Southampton board took the difficult decision to part company with Loading. Most readers were sad to see him go but some said it should have been done earlier. Shuttle was was only ever going to be a caretaker.
A simple 'Like' does not do this justice. I can only hope that LTL & I can live up to this level of 'Bigging Up'. As to @milton archer thoughts on wheeling out the big guns, I feel that this particular roller coaster is still on its inexorable upwards track, getting ever nearer to the peak. Will it crash and burn? Will there be a brief period of 'Hey look at the view from up here'? If we start plunging down towards the Water Splash, we will definitely call on @......loading...... to break out the plastic macs and umbrellas, just to reach the shores of the playoffs relatively unscathed. What am I saying? We're going to the promised land. Just remember, if we can see further, it's because we are on the Shoulders of Giants
