Don’t forget there’s a good chance Everton might come down That might be very appealing to Morton No idea if he’s a blue nose
I don't see it myself. Wharton went on deadline day, which notoriously inflates the price, but I think Liverpool would gladly take £6m if offered and it allowed them to buy him back later.
I’m against spending £4 million on Giles. I don’t know how much he’d cost, but I’d rather us go for someone like Jordan Bos at Westerlo. He’s an Aussie international and Syd will back me up on how good he is and he’d suit this level. Much better defensively than Giles, good going forward and has the engine and physicality that is perfect for Championship football.
Garner went for £15m after one good season with Forest and I think Morton has been better. That’s the going rate for someone his age who’s been a top performer at this level now.
He plays for a team that's one point above the relegation zone and hasn't won a game the the last 6 outings. The Belgian top division is like Scotland, there's only a few decent (ish) clubs, and most of them would struggle in the Championship and the rest make up the numbers, I'm nearly dead and would look good in that leaggu hahaha.
I wasn't suggesting Wharton is a bad player or anything, I just don't see where £18m for Tyler Morton comes from.
Not gonna happen but if we were forced to choose between Slater and Morton, would people choose Morton? I don't think I would. Maybe he has a higher potential for growth but he'll never have Slater's versatility.
I think both players have their strengths, they're both very good at what they do. But at present, I think Slater is more of a complete midfielder than Morton is (granted he's a little older).
Slater has been better at right back then he has been central midfield this season. Few good games in the middle but not been great on the whole IMO. Morton is a much better central midfielder
Interested to hear why you think Slater is more complete? I think they’re both possession midfielders which Morton is superior which is why he starts there more. They both leave a lot to be desired off the ball in the middle
