I said on some thread on here that it would be very cruel to get relegated after the run we've had and the hope that's been tangled in front of us the last few weeks. It is looking increasingly likely that those would have / could have / should have moments might cost us dear. On the other hand, if we'd won the West Brom game 2:1 as we should have done but for the handball save, we'd now be nearly high and dry. You don't get the breaks at the bottom.
I really thought cracking goals from Jimmy Dunne and Steve Cook signalled a changing in the tide when it comes to those 'moments'. But then I think about how many golden chances we've missed in recent games (Smyth, Willock, Chair all guilty), the WBA handball save, Wednesday's freak goal immediately followed by Andersen smacking one against the bar and Begovic's flap at Plymouth and I think fate might be ****ing with us. It really would be a cruel relegation but we know how often this team crumbles when the chips are down. Next weekend is big big big.
It could have been worse, with other results. Next week is bigger than big....and possibly the nest result of the weekend for us was Norwich beating PNE. Win next weekend please
It couldn't have been much worse with the other results Beth. Although Wednesday and Huddersfield drawing rather than winning obviously helped.
Yeah, fair comment....Hope to see you lot at ours next season but I wouldn't count on it...Good luck with that!
I left with about 10 mins to go yesterday, not just cos we were not going to score but cos the lad had parked about 3 ****in miles away! Hull are a good side, not the Hull of old. Rosenior has got them playing well with some shrewd loans and it's quite refreshing to see a team not relying on a big lump up front. Our introduction of pace in the form of Smyth caused some problems but unfortunately he's crap and his end product is pretty non existent. Having said that, it's quite unfair not to mention Dykes whom could have been mistaken as playing for Hull. Poor result but against one of the better teams in the division.
Still think Begovic was to blame for that crucial opener. It was a good hit, off the underside of the bar but any decent keeper should be saving that. Too far off his line and didn’t get enough spring in his dive. My fridge freezer is more agile than that old timer
In my opinion I think we need 4 points to survive. That's looking at other clubs fixtures. Not sure we're going to do it.
First thoughts are normally spot on. I instantly thought he was culpable. He’s had about 2 decent games but has cost us so many points this season
Three more points will surely do it. And if we end up failing to have got them from our last 6 games, we simply don’t deserve to stay up
Wouldn’t 3 be enough? 4 points would mean that both Hudd and SW would need to win 2 out of their 3 games and secure a draw(bearing in mind our goal difference). Think that is unlikely.
Yeah three would require an extraordinary set of results for Bham to get to 50 and one of the others to get to 51 plus there’s no guarantee the other teams below 50 now get to the 50/51 depending on GD they’d need. The bar will be 48 I expect.
