£4.00 per month increase for me but over 9 months instead of 8. I will in real terms be paying £5 less per month than this season.
It's about £5 a month which isn't even the cost of a pre match pint. However it's been unusual for them to jump the prices by 5% 2 seasons running. Seriously hope they limit memberships this year, sort out the ****show of the e-ticketing and stick more outlets in the concourses.
One good thing Ashley ever did. Ten year price freeze. 0% increase for me. Not looking forward to the increase next time though……
Better product and people will have to pay ... if they don't want to pay someone else can. That's the harsh reality.
Think we were all in agreement, that, with the FFP restrictions, our commercial revenue has to increase. However I don't like it when they go with the easy options - get more out of the fans! With the level of revenue from broadcasting - income from ticket sales, with a capacity like ours, is relatively minor - 10% on that won't make much difference and will piss people off to a much greater extent. They need to put a rocket up the commercial arm and get them out identifying more global and regional sponsorships.
Why limit memberships - its a good source of income if people are willing to pay. Was reading something about stadium design etc and the new thought is that you put the outlets on the outside, rather than in the concourses so that they can operate all the time instead of just matchday and make the club inclusive to everyone in the area, rather than just matchday fans. Think its a great idea.
Better products cost more...football is no different to anything else. You can't expect to keep paying Ashley's budget prices or anything close for a competitive club. The fans seem to think they're owed something from the world on this one... sadly this isn't a charity case and others are prepared to cough up if they don't take the opportunity. It's a business they have to maximise everything and not pander to the poor... it's awful but that's the cold fact.
