No idea mate...... Don't think the PL have a clue either. It's nuts how **** an organisation as big as that is run. Either corrupt or incompetent. Either way new leadership is required.

Whether we like it or not sporting sanctions and point deductions are now part of the sport. They're now going to have to follow the rules and will probably now behave.

I mean, if 2 points are the "sanctions" why the **** does anyone have to behave.

    It's weak as piss.

Just go play Sheffield United, there's your two points back with a bonus 1 point. The league is crap.

Which is all well and good if the rules had been written down in the first place.

The entire thing sucks, but there's always going to be different amounts and circumstances involved.

They will be aware if the rules say x amount over = y amount of points that clubs will just decide to take the hit or not. The luxury tax idea appears to be a non starter unfortunately.

It's all a nice play because if 16 million gets you 2 points what does 150 million over or an amount that could see the elite challenged? It's a shot across the pretenders bows.

    Dear me Everton... they're knackered...

Quite a read, but this is what sort of a state they're in.

    https://theesk.org/2024/04/11/the-inescapable-reality-for-evertons-directors/

    TLDR - Summary:

    The role of Everton’s directors

I’ve talked endlessly about the role of Everton’s directors for many years. Never has the need for them to act responsibly been greater than it is now. Such is our plight that their legal duties must overcome any other interests or beliefs they may have.

Their recklessness in managing the running of a football club has been laid bare in the Commission hearings (regardless of how one feels about the Premier League, PSR, the Commission’s decisions etc, this is irrefutable). Their inability to secure long term, sustainable funding for the stadium incomprehensible.

The decision of Moshiri to agree the sale of his majority stake to 777 Partners and his unwillingness to seek alternatives is beyond comprehension.

He and they’ve got us to this point. A point in which realistically, despite there having been alternatives, the only realistic outcome is insolvency. Whilst I’ve stated previously (and stick by) the belief that the acquisition by 777 Partners was the worst of all outcomes, the second worst, administration is seemingly inescapable.

I don’t believe the directors can ignore this most likely outcome any longer.

It is the most desperate of times.

So FFP was introduced to protect clubs but basically has screwed clubs in to almost being another Portsmouth. You genuinely couldn’t make this **** up

Regardless of FFP, Everton would be ****ed. They've been so badly managed, with a little bad luck along the way (Usmanov).

They also have a fanbase with unrealistic expectations.

Delusions of grandeur from a moderately successful spell in the 80s.

They see themselves as a big club and aren't anymore. They are a bigger than Newcastle though in terms of success and our fans are guilty of the same thing.

The game moved on and other clubs continued to win things and have grown into what are now big clubs.

Fully agree, they're a more successful club than we are.
