He said our target was to win the last 8 after Ipswich, so same ole same ole.

 

It’s really infuriating that we put in a poor performance against Blackburn, and didn’t hold on against Ipswich and boro.

We would be back within touching distance now. Oh well

 

Not quite. If Leicester lost to us and somebody else then they could still get to 97 points if they win their other 3 games and the most we can get with 6 wins is 96 (yes Leeds would be out of the equation if they lost to us and one other but you would still need to factor in Ipswich).

Basically we need to win all 6, have Leeds draw or lose another game and have Leicester either lose another 2 games or lose one and draw one. Simples

 

Meanwhile, back in the real world. We have blown what little chance we had.

That kind of penalty would have made a difference this season. Will it next year?

 

I really don't think it would have made any difference whatsoever this season!

 

If Ipswich or Leicester had 2pts deducted then we would only be 2 behind if we won our games in hand. It would help out whoever finishes 3rd

 

Ah, see what you meant now. Thought you were referring to Sheffield United this season in the PL, not this season's Championship.

 

Leicester: Plymouth (a) - West Brom (h) - Saints - (h) - Preston (a) - Blackburn (h)

Ipswich: Middlesbrough (h) - Hull (a) - Coventry (a) - Huddersfield (h)

Leeds: Blackburn (h) - Middlesbrough (a) - QPR (a) - Saints (h)

For Leicester, I'm predicting 3 wins 1 draw 1 loss from those five. So a final tally of 98 points.

Leeds' fixtures look the best, and I feel by the time they play us, we will be resting players for the playoffs, so they won't need to work too hard to get three points.

Ipswich have two tricky away games, and I can see them failing to win at least one of those four.

My prediction:

Leeds: 99pts
Leicester: 98pts
Ipswich: 98pts

Leicester to squeeze through on GD.

unbeaten only puts us on 96 pts so

1. Saints 96
2. Leicester I think 95
3. Ipswich 92
4. Leeds 92

I'm going to need medication on the last weekend of the season!

 

Realistically, I think we can expect another 12 points. That would put us on 90, which is a decent effort. I think we'll win the playoffs.

If we can have another weekend where Leeds and Ipswich fail to pick up 3 points and we win then I'll start believing again.

 

Leeds will beat Blackburn at home. Boro could be a tough game for Ipswich though.
