I hate to say I don’t believe in superstition like this, I just did it for the wind up I was brought up in such a superstitious family, my father saluting magpies, him having to sit in the same chair and using the same pen if he picked a horse winner. It can really affect your life and take control in a negative manner so as a young adult I decided to block it all out and not care about walking under ladders and all the other nonsense. The weirdest thing, my father was dying in hospital, I was racing along to see him and a bloody magpie flew straight into my window screen so if anyone should be superstitious it should be me
Haha you don’t believe that mate. Watching our game, the fans were silent for large spells, you could hear the groans, the anxiety has to affect the players, it will be the same for the others. Let’s be honest, if we were Sunderland we’d be saying it was a game we should have lost and how two penalties were not given is a joke. We were not great but we deserved three points, we’ll get them against Blackburn. Ipswich have two weeks off after the weekend, we have 9 days. Nine days is nice, is two weeks just a bit too long. Ipswich have an 8pm away game at Hull, they travel for a game 72 hours later away to Coventry. We have a much shorter trip to Boro and 24hrs longer before we’re away to QPR. This coming weekend are vital for both teams as there are definitely points to be lost away from home for both teams. Would be interesting to know if either team will be returning to base or travelling straight to the next away game. We could quite easily travel back from Boro, Ipswich will surely be an overnight stay in Hull?
So on the 26th April, we'll have played 45 games, they'll be back on 43 3 wins on the bounce for us and more dropped pts for Ipswich on Saturday it is then.
Meant it was the players not wanting promotion. Remember most of them will have to transfer back to championship if promoted. They mightn't fancy moving houses etc
I think the players want it as much as anyone mate hence the nerves. Piroe hasn’t tasted promotion, there won’t be teams looking to take him from us should we remain in this division, Ampadu has only tasted relegation, Roberts, Anthony and Rodon shouldn’t have any nerves they’re here on loan. Farke has experience, he is closer to the players than us, we can see Bamfords gone (again) so why he gets put in the firing line is beyond me. Farke needs to pick the strongest mentally, I’d happily bench Summerville, Bamford, Rutter and James for Anthony, Joseph, Piroe and Gnonto. I’d prefer to see Gray in the middle, Roberts at RB, Farke would never dare make so many changes but I fear something needs to be.
Agree with all that apart from dropping penalty taker, top scorer and Leeds’ most dangerous player Summerville
God help us if Piroe stayed on board for the pl. He's definitely only championship standard as is Dan James and many more. Top championship standard mind you but not pl
I wouldn’t argue with this mate, but the same can be said about a lot of strikers in the championship. My concern this season is win promotion, I’ll worry about who’s good enough for the PL if we go up. We spent badly last visit, I hope the scouts are better next time around.
You’d hope they’d bring that experience but they shouldn’t be playing with the same nerves as they can leave and go back to their PL clubs if we fail
Farke can’t start with Bamford today surely!! If he does and we don’t win get ready Farke for the backlash.
