Just caught up on this thread. Really exciting to see Triantis and Young seem to be progressing at a really good rate.

Would change the complexion of the team and KS's perceived performance if Triantis was to come back in the summer and make that CDM role his own after bossing it in Scotland.

    Fingers crossed for all involved.

Thought we could use an update on our loan players, here goes:

    Eliezer Mayenda at Hibs
Unfortunately the player has made only 2 sub appearances totalling 57 minutes since joining, he has been named on the bench for all but one game since he arrived and presumably Hibs are paying a portion of wages, so there is that.

    Nectar Triantis at Hibs
The complete opposite of Mayenda in that he has appeared in all 10 games available to him since joining Hibs, has found his home sitting in front of the back-four showing a nice range of passing. An unequivocally successful loan as things stand.

    Jewi Bennette at Aris FC
Two appearances, both starts and pulled at half time in both, the Greek league has recently returned from a break and Aris will now compete is a playoff league with the winners playing European football next season, let's see if Jewi can have an impact because he has not played enough thus far.

    Joe Anderson at Shrewsbury
He has made 21 appearances for the Shrews, mostly at centre-back but lost his place after new year and has struggled for appearances since. What started out as a successful looking loan is now looking a little disappointing for the player, not entirely sure if there is some clause to be activated because he went from regular starter to out in the cold right after the January window opened.

    Alex Bass at Wimbledon
Alex has played every minute of every game in the league for Wimbledon this season and is in contention for their player of the season and even the PFA League Two team of the season. Overall a great loan for a player probably playing a level below his capacity.

    Jack Diamond at Carlisle
Playing in a struggling Carlisle team whilst trying to gain match fitness, Jack has been in and out of the starting lineup, he has done okay considering the circumstances but with his contract up in the summer and it is looking increasingly likely the player will move to pastures new.

Joe Anderson transfer is still a complete mystery to me. We loan out Bailey Wright and sign a kid not good enough for League One.
I know Wright got injured, but had we kept him and he'd played v Luton then things might have been different. We need to start being a bit more selfish with our players

I think Joe might end up being a decent signing, left sided, versatile and decent on the ball, but still a bit skinny and that was the critique I read from Shrewsbury fans earlier in the season, he could be bullied at times by big league one battering ram strikers. You could say the same about Triantis who still needs to fill out a bit tbh. I'm starting to think the way he has went from regular starter to completely out of the first team is perhaps to do with a loan fee that is triggered after an agreed amount of appearances or something of that sort.

He's 23 now. It's not like he's a bairn. He's older than Dan Neil and Trai Hume. If he's not able to get into a middling L1 team (not buying the non-football reasons issue because if that were true, they'd have sent him back in Jan) then he's not getting into our team any time soon. Give it 12 months and Speakman will think he's too old for our 1st team :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Just checked the stats and Anderson is older than:

matete, neil, ekwah, hume, cirkin, aouchiche, pembele, triantis, mundle, seelt, ba, burstow, hemir, hjelde, bennette, mayenda, jobe, rigg,

There's sometimes extra fees involved in cancelling the loan, sometimes it's contractually non-cancellable and must run its course, all depends on the agreement.

Also he's younger than Aji, who is far from the finished article. It's fine that we disagree on this one.

Aji is a country mile ahead of Anderson. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging the lad and maybe he will come good but he's at a stage in his career where he needs to be playing every week. SAFC will be monitoring him and surely asking questions why he's not playing. Going to contact a Shrewsbury supporting mate of mine and try and get some inside info

He needs to get on the protein shakes and fast to make it as a football league centre half for me, every battering ram would target him

That's fair enough, we're all entitled to our views. Personally I think he might end up in a different position due to his frame, unless someone at the club clicks on that we should give him a strength and conditioning regimen and he can pack on a few kilos worth of muscle. Otherwise I see him potentially shifting to defensive midfield or left back.

Thanks for that contribution Alco and TC. great to read. Triantis could be just the sort of player we are curently looking for, he has something about him imo and at least worth a try out pre-season.

No where near good enough. Stick thin and not just at the level of where we are. Another Denver Hume regression down the pyramid

We need to get so much better at loaning players out.

Should be doing what the big boys do and have game time stipulations in the loan deals. Mayenda and Bennette may as well have been at the AoL, playing regularly for the u21s and been in and around our first team squad instead of playing a grand total of 147 minutes between them since January. Pointless.

Please nectar is going well though. Still think he will be better as a ball playing CB in a 3.

Just weak and not great. Same as Anderson who is the same. No where near the level of where we currently are or want to get too.

Maybe it's the standard they have shown whilst on loan. I meant singing these younings from the french second tier isn't exactly a good barometer of quality is it ? We have signed so many players who are years away from even a sniff of impact.

I’d bet he doesn’t make it here. Sold for coppers in the summer or allowed to leave on a free imo. I agree with @TopCat_

Bought for coppers to be fair to the lad, if we turn a profit, even a modest one it's not a failure.
