Birmingham weren’t much cop though ps Colwill made the difference and good to see Ashford got 20 minutes.
A win... A goal from open play.... AND it was well worked and incisive, quick play..... A clean sheet.... A youngster on for a half decent run out..... We did the "dirty" stuff well..... What's not to like???? Well, while I'm here Diedhiou.... Enough said... Biggest contribution was winning a throw late on... That bloody slip in the box when no one was near him Our passing on occasions was so poor.... And despite scoring and being better in the second half, Bowler was definitely not putting in a proper shift. A number of times he declined to chase a slightly miss hit or marginally overhit pass to him. But a win is a win in what could have been a tricky game given their predicament.... Plus, we probably avoid the Wurzel wum again tonight (no, not Mrs Brizzle, though she's not best pleased that we watched our game tonight and not theirs ). Top 10 finish anyone????
Agree on Bowler, he’s so slow for a winger. Turnbull and Ralls are equally slow. Next season we’ve got to get quicker midfielders. As for the game it was lacking so much basic skills with countless errors by both sides. A wins a win though. We just wish we could get these results more consistently at home.
I just want to say a word of praise for Erol. He gave Ashford his league debut at a time in a game when we looked to be winners and not in a game where we were in trouble. It means Ashford's first Championship experience is a winning one and that can only give the lad a positive start. Plenty to pick holes in with Erol but I believe he's done this correctly.
He still brought on that waste of space Diedhou. Didn't even have Robbo on the bench as an alternative. Our sub keeper would do better than Diedhou. I've said it before, he's robbing his wages from us!!! Great to see Ashford make his league debut.
Rambo subbed at half time and may miss the last 4 games. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar We have hell of an injury list to finish off the season.
He’s so injury prone with each injury taking a while to recover. Whoever is managing next season will have to factor this into his squad planning.
Colwill seems more settled and is appears over his 'growing pains'. It would be prudent to continue his development in the 10 role. If he adds some consistency, he's as good as anyone else we can get on the pitch. Colwill playing 35 games would be better than Ramsey playing 10 half games. Not sure what to think about Ramsey and another year. Undoubted quality, and as good a player as we've got, if he could stay fit. I'm sure he has an influence off the pitch too. We need FIT players ON the pitch though. Whoever is managing next season has some wheeling and dealing to do in the summer. Balance needs to be brought to the squad and a TEAM built, not a group of disparate individuals. Which is what we've looked like too often. Our signings too often look like 'on paper, what have they done' rather than 'how do the fit the game plan / playing style, and will they gell with the rest of the squad'. That's assuming we have a game plan / style.
Like I said, with a credible team performance we could nick this one............... please log in to view this image
As I have said before I wouldn't exercise the option for another 12 months. For whatever Rambo is on we could get in 2, possibly 3, good and fit Championship players. Tough I know but we can't afford him as a passenger for another year. Does he have a 12 month option as well?
That's a possibility William although recently I feel Bulut has used him because he's there. He hasn't made much of a contribution in his time on the field and is so injury prone.
Depends on the option clause in the contract Bluey - it usually favours the club rather than the player. "Unilateral extension clauses (UECs) are contractual clauses that give one party to a contract the exclusive right to extend the employment relationship with the other party. Unlike reciprocal clauses - where both parties need to agree to the extension - UECs do not require both parties to consent to activating the clause. In the context of football, we often see UECs in favour of football clubs in employment contracts between players and clubs."
It’s a funny old game, this season in particular it seems! Bulut is frustratingly stubborn like McCarthy and it annoys the fans and gets on Masky’s tits! It’s a win one lose one, lose badly and win reasonably well at times....hardly any draws and might be the case for the last four games. I would give him another season this week, and cancel my last weeks demand ie: Bulut out! Got to have a bit of time! IB is a titty! Masky
