Ipswich play Watford this evening. Do we a) Want Watford to win, so that we will have gained on all three teams above us, b) Want Ipswich to win, preferably by a considerable margin, so that Watford players are in a downwards confidence spiral, which will be made worse by our match on Saturday, or c) Don't mind who wins, as long as lots of players get injury niggles that take them out of contention for the remainder of the season, or get red cards that take effect immediately
After yesterday, I give up trying to decide (i) which two of the top three I think will finish in the top two, and (ii) which one of the top three I would be most willing to play in the play-offs.
I hadn't noticed Latte at all this season until he scored against us at Easter. And since then he can't stop scoring.
Like clockwork. Another game which Ipswich aren't winning after an hour, another game where they make a triple-sub after an hour.
I'd rather we missed out on auto's by a big gap rather than a couple of points. Pressure is getting to everyone.....
That's a pretty useless result for both Hull and Boro. The big winners - massive winners - of this round of fixtures are Preston. They are right back in the top 6 race again - albeit 4 of their final 5 games are against top 6 teams. And first up is a crucial game vs Norwich.
Depending on whether Huddersfield will have anything to play for on the final day (I suspect the answer will be yes they will), there's a case for saying that tonight was Ipswich's easiest remaining game on paper.
Seems to me that as long as Leeds and Leicester lose one of their remaining games other than when they play us, all we need to do is win the last 6 games and we go up at least 2nd. Come on Russ, can't be that hard can it?
Russ may be tangentially involved, but the dream team of Le Tissier's Laces and, er, me, will ensure that Saints will indeed win all six of our remaining matches. I've already enquired about hiring an open top bus for the victory parade around Southampton.
