I disagree with this as I thought the discipline, organisation and determination were enjoyable to watch. Just need to bring in / develop some quality additions to our attack.
I enjoyed it and Dodds recognised how we needed to play to get something from the game. Sometimes you do have to do things differently and great that the team adapted and were really solid with it.
So has Dodds finally got the team playing how he wants? Obviously still not scoring, but I don’t think he can be blamed for that. Perhaps he’s not the useless head coach I’ve been reading about.
Playing very well. Don't know how else we could have set up. Good away performance against a strong team.
Tough one. But I thought it was a good performance. I mean, I can understand his point of that performance was replicated over many games but not as a standalone against the strongest team at home in the league.
Don't understand some people's need to be relentlessly down on everything the club does. It was a good performance, well planned and well organised. You'd hope for a more attacking display against a weaker team but I can't see much to complain about last night.
We are the only side to have completely stopped Leeds scoring over two games - yes we got so deep at times Chris Rigg was probably singing his own chant with the crowd but it was effective - little heart in mouth at times but we still had more shots on target - given the bad run that was a well organised performance and even if we were high flying there would need to be performances like this (Burnley last year springs to mind). I bet Leicester wish they had got a point last night!!!
If we came out and played open, expansive football and got beat 4-0 he would've said we needed to stay compact and defensively sound. Can't win. Every season there is always going to be games where you have to dig in and settle for 0-0. Did he watch the City v Arsenal game the other week? Two of the best sides in the country did exactly that. Having the ability to flip your style within games based on the opposition and circumstance is crucial to being successful so i'm not sure why he thinks it won't bring us success.
He was alright yesterday gets beaten 1v1 too often for my liking, not sure full back is his position not sure where he’s best placed if I’m honest but i guess that’s the coaching staffs job to find out!
We know we have a striker problem. Stick a Ryan Hardie /pacy striker in there who is a threat on the break and we may have won that last night. Arguably we could play that as our away game strategy if we had that striker.
Styles is poor one to one but wins a lot of interceptions. He’d actually make a decent cdm funnily enough …
Plays there for Hungary doesn’t he? I think he’ll join permanently so atleast we’ve got a full pre season to see where he’s best utilised
