Did Russell still do his post match celebration thing? And did many of the crowd respond to it still?

Imo Martins mismanagement of Charles has cost us a lot of points.

Not sure you could back that up with facts tbh. He’s not an RM style player, but he’s not cost us points.

When he played during our post record run we didn’t concede. When he didn’t play we conceded, a lot.

    He was then dropped.

Don’t let the facts get in the way, he could be critical for the run-in and playoffs.

A good gritty win against an in-form side when we were right in the ****.

    Pro's
Aribo- utterly immense. Got to be player of the season for me
Smallbone- superb energy. One of his better games for us
-3 points. Doesn’t matter how we get them, they all count

    Cons
Mara- was awful. Now I don't necessarily mind a player who isn't that great as long as they try hard (loved Lyanco, Ostlund, et al for just that reason) Mara looked like he didn't give 2 ****s. Not impressed
Charles- the kid did great, why haven't we seen more of him?
-Some suicidal short passing around the box again. We got lucky at times
-The ref. He was absolutely dog ****.
-Sports Republic. Because I don't like them and it'll piss Che's God like Thighs off if I include them. <laugh>

    Game 6/10
    Result 9/10

Pretty sure I’ve seen him give the ball away in dangerous positions dozens of times, so yeah; he’s cost us points.

he has had bad games and good games to be fair. I found him slow on the ball when I’ve watched him which def resulted in him conceding possession too often. He’s the right kind of player in the right position for us though. We need a good 6.

He’s given the ball away a few times (though not last night), but it’s never led to the concession of a goal. That may be more luck than judgement, but he hasn’t cost us points, and he’s a way off being “****”.

Who's said they were shocked? From what I've read people are just annoyed that it took so long to bring Charles and Stu on. We instantly looked better when they came on so it is a valid point.

It's not just this game. It's literally every game of football, whether it's Saints, England, or whenever I read the comments of other fans regarding their own teams. Fans always say stuff like, "we scored a goal and then just sat back", and it's like they don't even take into consideration that their are TWO teams playing in the game, not just their own. It might look like your team is sitting back, but in reality it's probably that the opposition is throwing the kitchen sink at you because there's 15 minutes left and they're 1-0 down.

While that is true and we're not going to dominate every match, I do think Martin isn't reacting quickly enough to teams either changing tactics or upping their intensity. Last night for example, he could have brought on Charles on the hour mark, while it was still 2-0. The danger signs were there before they scored. Now, I'm pleased that he said himself in his post match comments he should have changed things earlier - hopefully he learns.

Yep, agreed. That's certainly one of his downsides, and has been all season. His comments are very reassuring though. All in all it was a very good performance considering both teams' recent form. I just think with the mood of the fans right now, they'd rather talk about the twenty minutes where things were going against us, than the 70 minutes in which we were far the better team. Some of the passing last night was so good to watch. This sort of thing just gets ignored now though.

Yep. Postives last night were the team selection to start and the first half performance. I really don't understand the Mara for Adarma sub, no matter how much I try! Mara isn't a winger. The only thing I can think of is work rate but he wasn't retaining possession at all.

He wanted to do Mara for Che and someone else for Arma. Basically he did the Mara sub first so when he took off Che we didn't think he was replacing Che with Mara. He fooled us :)
