Ever since the first leg of the playoff at Forest when Taylor got red carded early , I knew we had a special group & was confident we could bring most of what we had for players to the Premier league if we got there , and here we are , turning heads with those very players . P.S. How bout this scenario ... Rodgers is unhappy with transfers & moves to another club , Martinez gets fired at Wigan ......................worth a thought although I don't ever want Rodgers to leave , but he might very well do that if the right backing comes from elsewhere

Breezy thing is people are putting that Brendan is unhappy and wanting loads of money, and others are saying not, nobody knows the facts though as they are not out in the public domain. All that is there is he wants 4-6 players, his contract talks are probably not connected directly with that.

Cracker- I wouldnt really like to have bobby anywhere near us now, he played his part but is still very naive as a manager, though it could be worth getting hold of kevin reeves again. Martinez is History for me and i dont think alot of fans could take him back and buy into his media spin anyway ;)

Maybe he is unhappy with transfers Jager , maybe not but it sure doesn't look promising when he holding off on his own contract while waiting to see if he gets 4 to 6 players he's been asking for through the MEDIA !! . As for Martinez , if the scenario arose that I put forward , it wouldn't matter what most fans thought , the board would take him back in a heartbeat

Breezy I have listened to all his interviews over the last few weeks and not heard anything about him being unhappy, the stuff you are reading in the press comes from his weekly interviews at the liberty stadium, the press then cut that up to use in such a way to take Brendan out of context . If you want to know what he actually says unedited sign up for swans player and watch how the press call happens.

Can I also point out that the press call is all the press in one place all at the same time, he is not speaking individually to the press like certain sections of the media like you to assume.

he will sign as soon as he is sure of the clubs long term future, you cant blame him for that as he is ambitious and full of enthusiasm, he wants to succeed and he has a promotion under his belt and now he wants to keep us in the premiership, He has made it as plain as day that he wants 4-6 players in January as we have no strength and depth in the squad and he will need a substantial amount of money for that as the players he needs are in the millions and not thousands....the board had better listen to him because it dont bare thinking about that they refuse and we struggle and get relegated. that would send us on the slippery slope with losing another manager and most of the good players......so lets see some action Swansea and sort it out one way or another....

A calculated risk in the jan window to ensure survival on our first outing in the prem will enable funds to be available for a big spend in the summer, and to lift us to the next level where we are not just giving the top clubs a good game but are a real threat to them. And if we continue to stay up we should soon be buying £10m + players to achieve more of the glory days that we have become used to over the past few years. Though they are minor to what we can achieve in the prem in the future .

The only loyal players and staff these days are the ones with out the talent to go any higher. As for the rest its look after number 1 as we should have learned from the past. If we need to drop or change position then do it and dont put up with sulking prem-adonas or inuendo from either our great leader or players alike club comes first and todays group will soon become yesterdays men .

Breezy I was down my local pub last night, reading a Sports supplement in the EP with a few Jacks, and Rodgers states that he is very happy, and settled at Swansea, and that all he wants, is here at Swansea, so I don't think there is any issue over him signing, unless our board are ridiculously mean in January, which I can't see happening, even Jenkins is smiling this season! Wigan have won a game, 2-1!!.......... <laugh>

The thing is dai you are making the assumption that the club is not enthusiastic , ambitious and are stalling on the contracts, so I'll quote huw directly on this, pretty clear that the board , huw and Brendan are on the same wavlelength here

    QUOTE;
"To try and compete we need a full Liberty Stadium; we need to expand our stadium but without debt; we need to spend on transfer fees; we need to invest in our Youth; we need to keep our current manager, staff and players happy at Swansea City.

I'm not saying Rodgers is happy or unhappy jager , I am saying I'm a bit unhappy he's suddenly asking for 4 to 6 players with 5 or so weeks left till the window while humming & hawing on his own contract talks . It's so so Sousaish and lets face it , Rodgers has already proved he has that grass is greener aspect to his career . If he did go , I certainly would thank him for contribution & get excited about the next guy .

I don't think he is suddenly asking for players, there is a plan of action obviously being drawn out over many many months, and it was to get targets in January , his press call is fully endorsed by the board , it's in the liberty stadium, there are no surprises here.

And as for him delaying talks on his contract, there has been no delays, he quite clearly states out his plans, the reasons for certain things in his press call. I gather you don't subscribe to swansplayer ? I suggest at about £4 a month it's affordable for just about everyone.

You missing a trick here though , it's pretty hard to read between the lines when you only getting snippets in the press , well after they put their angle on it, and drop quotes here and there. Still if things are tight I can understand

I don't go by quotes .. just common knowledge . Buck wants 4 to 6 players in around the time he's negotiating his own contract . Buck left the hornets for something he deemed better at Reading . If somehow he doesn't get a promise on his 4 to 6 players he wants he may look elsewhere from the reputation he's built from us up to this point . Just don't quote me on that Lol !!. It's just an opinion jager & I've got a bad feeling about this " 4 to 6 " player .... semi demand , thats all .. hope I'm wrong

I think you are wrong Breezy, I don't think his contract talks are being swayed by the transfer talk, Brendan says he talks to the Board and Huw almost everyday, they are talking from the same hymn sheet, the directors are not stupid people, they know what is needed, they have been running our club for 10 years, and they have barely put a foot wrong in that time.

Any keyboard warrior can say anything they like from behind the anonymous blind that`s called a screen. As an example, I was out drinking with some of the players last night and they confirmed that they are neither leaving the Swans or staying with the Swans. They also told me that Buck is happy here and he`s not at all happy here. Over the last couple of years, most of the rumours (FACTS) were just that, rumours. Dai might very well come on here stating that he knows x y or z, but that means nothing unless there is some relevance to back it up. Sorry, I can`t say who my contact is because he wishes to remain anonymous !

Back to the topic, I don`t know what Buck`s vision is (only Dai knows that ......... that`s a bit of sarcasm by the way). I would have thought that the board (not Huw ..... he`s only a figurehead) would, within reason have no complaints in agreeing with Buck`s assessment of what we need to stay where we are. Perhaps he has unreasonable demands, perhaps he has ideas which will cost peanuts (that`s monkeys). I think we should all wait and see what happens at the end of next month.

Obviously he`s heading for bigger and better things, but not until at least the end of this season, even then that might be a bit too early for him. He is showing a little bit of naivety in certain areas, but we are in the top league and he`s still learning.

Breezy might be onto something with selling one to gain four or so. That`s just an opinion, I have no inside knowledge at all.

I wondered why there was so many replies to this thread! Turns out I've been up to my old bullying antics again, by the looks of it! Nice to know.

Actually I think it was Norway that said " sell one to buy four , although I'd be more tempted to sell Sinclair as opposed to Dyer to get Buck's ... money
