Was it not also linked to it being the game that was postponed last year, cos of the earthquake, then postponed again as they’d moved it to Saudi who wouldn’t let them play in the shirts they wanted, but wouldn’t postpone again due to their fixture list being more congested than Galatasary who got knocked out of Europe?
Klopp showed his true colours yesterday i.e. complete and utter bell end. I especially enjoyed see Pep Linders have to physically grab him and tell him to calm down. Made a right tit of himself. I don’t know what people do for a living on this board but imagine acting like that at work if something didn’t go your way? A grown man carrying on like that? Embarrassing. Anyone but them.
Everton have been docked another two points for further breaches of the profit and sustainability rules, they now drop below Brentford to 16th in the Premier League.
IMO There is a real desire to see Everton , such a ‘great’ establishment club with ‘all its history’ and big new stadium and being in Liverpool stay in the Premier League . Even that tw** Adrian Durham believes it would be a real bad thing for football and ‘their’ image for the rest of the world to see such an English club be seen to be dodgy . Eff all to do with what they’ve done , it’s who you know which will probably keep them up - they are being given every help.
Yet there are other clubs you have done far worse than Everton, whose transgression was quite small and a lot to do with building their new stadium who have got away scott free.
the fa lied to everton. they were told interest payments on the loan for the new ground didn't count. then they were told it does count. the fa should be relegated.
If you read about it then it is Southampton’s fault for not agreeing reciprocal pricing. They charged leeds fans more than the Southampton fans next to them. If they had Leeds would have charged. £27. As it is they can charge the same price home fans are charged in the same stand which is. £47. Sunderland agreed with reciprocal pricing so their fans will be paying £29. Amazing thing is at those prices Leeds could sell more tickets than are available. Shows what a bargain City prices are.
I've got no sympathy for Everton or any other club , they all knew the rules but chose to break them Fans should be looking at the owners rather than looking for other people to blame
Apparently the same rule was different for Spurs when they were building their new Stadium. Make of it what you will.
All this messing about with points is ridiculous. If you break these rules it should be automatic relegation. None of this "we'll work it out near or after the end of the season".
How do you scale that? Do really super bad breaches mean double relegation? Do breaches 1 pound over the limit result in just a 2 game stay in the Championship?
Not at all. Do you think someone who gets caught speeding 2 miles over the speed limit should be punished the same as someone speeding 50 miles over the speed limit?
Another points deduction for Everton. We’re now in April. This whole thing is a farce. I’ve said before but the Premier League need to issue these sanctions in the off-season for the upcoming season, not to the current season with a month left to go. With the possibility of appeal, it leaves other clubs in limbo even after the final game of the season. Imagine being Luton who may well survive by the skin of their teeth on the final day only to find out Everton and/or Forest have won their appeals for points deductions and now Luton are relegated retroactively.
If you wait until the summer and then issue a deduction for penalties relating to a certain fiscal period surely you open the doors for relegated teams suing the league for lost revenue for unfair relegation when a side has stayed up by cheating?
