I've not grabbed anything at all, I think it was a good interview and he was open about what he's possibly done to much of and also not enough of and he's learning from it and being more flexible in how he does things. You saying I've grabbed a stick to beat him with is absolutely no different to me saying you've listened to it with your Rosie tinted glasses on and taken what he said and used it as yet another reason to ignore whats been wrong. But that's ok, you try and make my post into something it wasn't.....oh and the term he used was " I/we analyse everything to the n'th degree" And if I really wanted to use that interview to "beat him" there was a few things he said that would make it so easy, but I'm not going down that route as it's pointless, it was a good honest interview from someone that's admitting without actually admitting it that he's made some mistakes but he's learning....that's a good thing for us all
I find it odd that people on here keep claiming LR doesn't let the players "play" because he has them doing exactly what he wants instead, resulting in some players going to Tan because they don't want to play in the position/style that LR wants to them to. Okay, but why then do those players keep going on the pitch doing exactly what LR tells them to instead of breaking rank and doing what they want on the pitch? The claims of unrest and over control seem to exist in contradiction to each other, in my opinion.
Players will play as a team, won't get 1 or 2 breaking ranks on the pitch even if they're not happy with what they're expected to do.
Honestly, I didn’t see much different on Saturday to some of the games we’ve been frustrated by, except for the fact we weren’t as wasteful in front of goal. Carvalho scored one that fell to him, a great take. The passing move was superb, but started by passing round at the back. Jaden scored an opportune goal, but then later in a similar position missed. We didn’t play any differently but scored the goals when it mattered
i agree, its why im not suddenly rosie in after that win i know what the team is capable of but its the long term consistency im wary of its not the first time we've had a great result its the 8 games in between thats the problem
Fair enough. I use performances like Saturday to hope that it’ll click next season. We’ve got a youngish squad, which I think brings issues with consistency. I hope it’ll come.
i can see that, but then i think almost all our attackers are gone next season so its another rebuild attacking is the hardest to get and it takes a lot of time norwich last season were very similar to us this season in a few ways, but pretty much all their attackers stayed if philo and delap can be here next season, ill be 10x more confident though philo would benefit for another season here for his personal development as well as ours
But if your instinct as a player is to charge up the pitch and take on a player, you're going to find yourself naturally doing that, and if Rosie didn't want players that like to do that, I don't think he would have suggested that we sign players that do that. It's much easier to take a player that fits the mould of what you want, than to try and change a player to fit your system, especially half way through a season. All I'm saying is that I don't think the player performances are completely down to Rosie and his system.
I reckon that if LR took us up to the Premier League at the first time of asking, took us to the top of it and won it all, breezed through all of the domestic cups, and then won the Champions League, that you'd still be wondering about the long-term consistency
no, i could be way wrong and i dont mind if i am its just with acun here, i want to make the most of it as we possibly can rosie will be a top top manager, I don't doubt that, he's just very inexperienced right now we all know too well, what ownership change can do
I agree that Rosie could be a top manager and that he's inexperienced. Although, I doubt that if he had the experience he would be working for us. Acun seems great so far, but he's not exactly cash rich. Probably best to enjoy it while we can.
The differences weren't huge, but sometimes In football all it takes is a couple of small changes to make a big difference.
Also away from home it’s how the home team play, generally they will be on the front foot and it’s how good that are at the press. Their manager admitted first half they weren’t good at it. It’s the home games that will be the test and how we break teams down
Definitely, the home form against stubborn defensive teams is key to see if and how we have potentially changed. If we can find a way to win those games then we are certainly a top 6 team with this current squad
Anything less than three points and Middlesbrough start to look out of it. It's the same boat we'll be in at the weekend if we don't take all the points either. They have to go for it – we both do.
Away from home they don't have the moaning and groaning from their own fans that's typical at the KCOM these days.
Away form being better than home form goes back before COVID, much as some.would like to frame it as a specifically Rosenior problem. And yes, I think the home crowd expectation dynamic has something to do with it. As the only time we were consistently decent at home was when there were no fans in.
I thought it had all clicked after the Southampton game other than the however many squandered chances to go in 7 up.. Didnt go well after that though, and thats giving going well a disservice. Our frailties in front of goal, especially at home in front of packed expectant fans is what has done for us this season and my fear is that, the bedding in of new loanees and players might mean we dont hit the ground running.
Certainly true of the game against Leeds, the only difference between the two games was we scored more and the opposition scored less, the way we played was exactly the same.
Last couple of away games I've ended up sat near groups of lads doing loads of coke, getting into fights, and missing most of the game. I hate it, and I'd rather sit next to someone moaning.
