With the timing of it I'd think it was about preserving the two goal lead, after we'd just lost it once and then restored it again.

Me too, but clearly Seri was doing okay, that run he made near the end when Jaden broke away, he obviously still has energy, Jaden really should have squared the ball too him.
At the time I thought it was another wrong decision by Jaden, not to pass but having watched a replay several times I'd argue he made the correct decision. Seri was still a way behind but moving like a gazelle (well, as gazelle like as Seri's ever going to move). There was also a defender getting back. Playing the ball across would have risked the defender cutting it out or Seri not reaching or controlling a slightly misplaced pass. Shooting was the best option. He should have hit the target though.
if you have a good chance of scoring then it's usually the best option if you pass then a lot can go wrong: poor pass poor collection, or another poor shot with the guy in possession all that can go wrong is: poor shot which it did!
I know I’ve whinged about Jadens sharing , but in the second half he got a good ball on the left and had player to his right moving all he had to do is slip that ball 6 yds and we keep it on the move near to their box it was a simple pass , he didn’t , held on it and lost it there were two players blocking him off . I know all players misplace passes but this is the frustration of him not doing the simple things as well as he could .
I recall this too. I think he is trying to draw players towards him to a maximum extent, so that when he passes it there is more space for the recipient. It’s a high risk high reward tactic though that’s sometimes goes wrong.
