Not quite but what I did say was I'd take 100 million for him.... he's not as important as Guimareas.
Like a kid being played out of position. Unsure when to engage the tackle, when to jockey the player, which choice to make when forced with 2 options. Lack of experience playing as a left back. technically good, and looks far more comfortable going forward. Had a better second half mainly down to us attacking more ourselves.
Clear to me the coaching team have seen this throughout the season which is why his game time has been limited if he was brought in to be a left back.
I thought he played well 1st 20 the side didn't and him and krafth got two on one situations they dealt with. Linked up well with Gordon and Anderson from 25 mins on. 7/10 same for Krafth....
He played well and so did Anderson if you want to go down that route. You wrote him off. has been dreadful at left back you must be blind if you couldn't see that. Willock was struggling with an injury which explains the lack of cover 1st 20... the entire side kicked on.
Thought Anderson did alright, not going to deny that. Agree Hall was exposed also, by both Gordon at times and Willock. Hall looks better going forward, I think he's learning a new position and needs a ton of game time to get experience in it. He looks miles off the finished article defensively unfortunately. FWIW I've never written Anderson or Miley off. I've stated I think our young local lads get far too much smoke blown up their arses far too quickly and are given a lot more slack than others as a result. I mean Anderson's song is the Geordie Maradona for God's sake.
Fair enough I agree on Hall being best going fwd.. he got 7.56 on bbc sport..he did well overall in the end like. Anderson really is starting to shine .. miley got much more of an arse licking because of his age, but it's starting to become evident that Newcastle actually have a really talented lad that's getting strong now aswel. I can't remember a local lad being that gifted for decades.... if he starts getting the goals he did in the youth teams we've got a top player.
At cb he has been better and you'd expect that. The fact is he was struggling at left back, clubs were targeting him with success week after week after week and we had Hall not even getting a sub appearance.
Got to bare in mind Livramento was the option to play there and did really well. Be an interesting one next week because I can see Tripps being back and possibly Pope.
I think you should play Hall, he's a youngster and will improve with game time. Benching him is ultimately pointless.
I remember toon fans arguing until they were blue in the face he was better than rice A decade on almost and I think we've all realised he's nowhere near good enough for the future. Anderson is already a far far superior player and he's not had anywhere near as many games.
Howe will drop Hall as soon as he possibly can.. once a manager has decided he doesn't like a player they're doomed. It doesn't make the manager right, but that's the way it goes.
