Pretty much as expected. Ekwah was absolutely awful last game so surprised he is starting. I’d be playing Styles there personally.
Happy enough with that side. Not convinced with Hjelde or Styles but also don’t want us rushing Alese. Hopefully Alese gets 20-30 mins today or an entire rest and in from start on Tuesday
Thats the only change i would have made to that team. We need to see what styles can offer us in the middle of the park If ekwah is on it then its fine but hes been really poor this season
He played 90mins for the U23s midweek. Ah well he's not been picked i see, and Ekwah still keeps his place somehow. Not the lineup i wanted to see at all.
No Ba on bench is a surprise. Would like to have seen Watson on there as well. Dack and Burstow wasting spaces tbh
u23s is a completely different beast. His injury was a reoccurrence on top of a reoccurrence. If we were in the playoff hunt it would make sense to rush him back, but i'd rather he was 100% for pre season instead of needing another operation because we rushed him back for a fairly meaningless game
On the plus side I’m really pleased to see Rigg starting. We need him playing as much as possible to ensure he signs in a couple of months. Or if he decides to go elsewhere, the more appearances he’s played for us, the more money we will get from tribunal
sorry I mean I’m concerned that we will sign him permanently. No sense having him on the bench ahead of Ba or Watson for example, when we have Hemir as a striker option
I think it started when Burstow himself said we tried to sign him permanently in the summer, the permanent rumour has been flying around ever since. I hope not, makes no sense.
Nothing would suprise me with us at all. He doesnt even look good enough when hes featured for our U23s nevermind the first team squad
