Mine have flown the nest now but I still can't say I have the answers. You can only apply the rules as suits the situation as in the two examples above. The only main rule I had at home was I don't want to see any old bill knocking - I had enough of that shhite with my bro's so certainly weren't going through that again - and mine got that message loud and clear. Financially the first penalty I ever instilled on mine was cancelling the bank of dad paying for the car insurance, after a third strike on it, case of three strikes and you pay for it yourself, responsibility has to start somewhere and having to pay for your own car insurance hits the message home nicely if you break the preset-conditions. Most xboxes and phones were their own bought as presents, so it didn't enter my mind to apply rules to them, although if I was getting grief from the school and having to defend them, then things were done my way, until they got back on track and the noise died down. So I'm not much use to you Luv because all circumstances are different and all kids react in different ways.

I've no idea what to do, outside of this house they are lovely people and everyone who meets them says so. Once through the door it changes. I'm at an age where I would expect to start focusing on myself and Mrs luv again and we're trying but we're starting to dread them coming home or what we'll come home to.

To be fair it's a fooking good solution if they are being a pain in the arse, although I'd imagine the fall out would not be a pretty sight, so probably good idea to disconnect the doorbell as well. :cheesy:

I paid £15 a week as well, when I got my first job. And we're talking 30+ years ago.

I've got two teenage boys and a twelve year old daughter. It's Easter, so all are off school.

Was home the other night and trying to get to sleep, the alarm was set for six am the next morning for work.

They've all got their lights on. The two youngest, on the same floor as us, have their doors open, and all I can hear is youtube and the two boys on xbox conversing with their mates. Loudly. I've got a sleep mask and ear plugs ffs.

By about 11.15 they were all asleep. I ****ing wasn't though!!!

Does my head in, phones and xbox. I would happily bin them all.

No he's told to do everything himself but constantly leaves things around. For example he'll wash his clothes and leave them in the machine or hang then up and leave them there for a week and he'll just dump dishes on the side quite often instead of washing them, never helps with any house work either but nobody can even enter his room that is kept pristine.
