The topic probably is worth its own thread but I can't be arsed.

Jonathan Pie absolutely spot on (as he often is) on the Scottish Hate Crime bill.

not or ever will be a team I like. Offer nothing apart from the odd cup every 20 odd year yet yet get hyped up constantly.

The way they've operated is criminal in my opinion. How can they get away with poisoning and polluting our rivers in such a way? Those in charge should be prosecuted in my opinion.

As for the bail out, that should absolutely not happen - shareholders are even unwilling to invest further so why should the government do so to bail them out? But there's a chance that they will, because the large holders are pension funds, not just British but also Canadian, Chinese and some Gulf states. That will bring a lot of pressure on the government from rich and powerful people who think laws don't apply to them.

This country needs to do a much better job with our public services. If they don't nationalise them, they should at the very least be putting laws in place on a minimum standard and inserting the right to withdraw any contract if there is evidence of these standards not being maintained.

If our public money is put in it should be a buy out not a bail out, and profits to repay the public purse.
O.a.n. - heard that for every £1 the Thames water customer pays - 25p goes on interest for their borrowing. How could the ceo and the accountants let it get there?

Forgot to say, first repayment to us should be made with the repayment of every penny of every bonus the CEO pocketed whilst watching the borrowing increase whilst the pipes leaked and he oversaw the sewage into the rivers and sea

The world's population keeps increasing but the world isn't getting any bigger ...

.... meanwhile we're making absolutely no real progress.

I keep seeing how we're making incredible advancements in medicine etc that prolong lives.
That's totally back to front imo, Esther Rantzen has the right idea ...

... they should make euthanasia compulsory at 80yo <laugh>

Watching The Big Match Revisited on ITV4 with the main match being Charlton v Huddersfield from April 1981. The football being played wasn't that bad, not the technically one touch football of today but not the hoof football people may remember. It was a game when if a player went down holding his knee you actually knew he was injured and not broke a finger nail. Pitches weren't as good as today but the best thing about it was there was no bloody VAR!!!

If anyone has actually read all of that, the final score was Huddersfield can't from behind to win 2-1

Absolutely brilliant, shame some of 'our own supporters' can't see the big picture.

    O.J. Simpson's deed.

Now he'll never find the people who killed his wife.
