It coming down to GD is the least likely of all outcomes. Not impossible of course, but not something we should be risking points chasing goals over.

Its not going to come down to GD we have Wolves last game of the season, so this means we will lose by 1 point to City yet again!

The fact that we’re even talking about GD with 8 games to play, when sitting top of the league means that my expectations for this season have already been surpassed! I keep telling myself that we can’t win it, all season, the team prove me wrong all season I don’t see why we can’t bloody do it now!

It was a huge chance to fill our boots and we utterly failed. We actually got one and then just really knocked it about in front with zero intent.

    poor. end of.

Nah this is pure arrogance and a lazy take based on the Arsenal result

    It was necessary.

Its not based on arsenal it'sbase don htis lot folding to several sidesand looking the the rest of our fixutres. I do not see us now overhualing arsenal's GD.

We even lost 1 goal to city on the match week.

We need to win all 8 now to win the title up to an if both of these rivals drop points first.

how many points did we lose against them? You think Arsenal fans were cheering that we only won 3:1 ?

Not for me. So say we won an acceptable 5-0 - we’d still be 3 behind and then the scenario is us drawing a game… so Arsenal would then be what, 5-6 ahead again after that?

    its nonsense

Teams raise their game when they play us, especially the teams lower down. That's just a fact. The teams we've scored most goals against recently include Bournemouth, West Ham and utd. Other than the 6-1 v Leeds, we've rarely battered the bottom of the table. We need maximum points more than we need maximum goals.

If we did get 5 say. and its -3. then at least its chasable. yes arsenal should on that we've win 4-0 thats fair enough thats what might happen

but at least we would have tried, just the tiniest bit. tip tap between them playing in front and stopping pressing even. we've left that chance behind us there and lucky to not leave 2 points alongside it TBH

The only way this job is getting done is putting everything in every game and rotating the players we have as they can all do a job.

we certainly don't need to be playing that game next thursday night at anfield if theres a chance to put the Qf to bed in leg 1.

The lesgue is won on most points not most goals. Arsenal need to worry about overhauling our points first.

Reckon theyll do open bus parade if they finish 2nd with a GD of 70 compared to our GD of 60?

Not sure why you’re so obsessed with Gd right now when none of the teams have same points and still 1/4 of the season to go.

wait till we are level on points but behind on gd then.

we are in the run in now. to expect anyone to drop points or make out there's ages to go is ridiculous.

the pressure ramps up exponentially as the games run out and someone will crack.

we are headed into a weekend where there's a fair to middling chance we draw as it's a tough away direct rival who hates to lose against us at any time whereas arsenal have a home game against decent opposition and city play palace.

this is a major hurdle coming and we've been in titles races waiting for rivals to drop points several times only to see it not happen for us.

    hope so.

but if we do then that's that cos gd will do for us.

let's start v utd where if they don't score 2 on the break we might get the win we need.

The two are definitely linked. The more possession you have, the more you make the other side fatigued (mentally and physically chasing the ball); which makes the game go more and more in your favour the longer the game runs.
