Thanks everyone for bearing with my very self indulgent alphabet, I enjoyed myself and thanks to those of you who joined in I hope it wasn't too dull and predictable and that this bloke didn't appear too often lol

I enjoyed the alphabet, I tried where possible to choose artists and tracks from my own album and CD collection I found tracks that I'd completely forgot about
    Cheers

I really enjoyed it too. I found thinking in terms of solo artists surnames pretty impossible. Mostly, I tried to remember flicking through the racks of records in Beano's in Surrey Street in Croydon. I enjoyed that memory.

Very enjoyable! Although missing a day and having to catch up was frustrating. <doh>

But not half as frustrating as finding one particular individual posting the same band and song a couple of hours after me!!! (Name withheld to protect the innocent! ) <laugh>

We have 3 of the grandkids stopping over for the week and as I survey the sea of Lego, Barbie and knex projects abandoned across the floor, Mrs Conn is on bath and bed duty while I cook a chilli and open the Merlot
This album came today( managed to get it from the postie before Mrs Conn )
Liking it already on only my second listen

    Really like that. <applause>
Although quite frightening that I have not only never heard of them (been around for >20 years) but haven't heard of any other bands and musicians linked on their wiki page! <yikes>

Mainly by me I suspect, saw them a couple of years ago after hearing them on the Radcliff and maconi show on 6 music
Worth the ticket to see the Bass players wiggle , the drummer was like a metronome and guitarist played dreamy licks all night
Also love the song they did with Leon Bridges

    So, where to start...

Oh yeah, that was some ****ing night! Lenny Kaye's Nuggets @ The 100 Club was unbelievably, so, so good!

Ok, so Paul Gray didn't make it, because of wear and tear to his already wrecked hearing on The Damned's recent tour of Japan and Australia. That's fair enough. Playing in front of Rat in some sizeable venues was always a gamble.

...and Captain didn't make it...because he's a dickhead and allegedly forgot that he had a preexisting commitment in Italy...

...and Dave didn't come because..well, he's Dave and he doesn't do stuff when he doesn't fancy it. Although his daughter showed up with all of The Damned's road crew.

So, it's a poor start...but **** it, it was great. I spent the first half an hour standing next to, and dancing with Stuart Lee and Kevin Eldon, who are top blokes.

A constantly revolving list of guests filled the stage, including Rat Scabies, Brian James, Cheetah Chrome (of The Dead Boys), Dave Tregana (Sham/Lords of The New Church), Jim Jones, Martin Parrott (Johnny Moped/Wingmen) and numerous guest vocalists. The audience was packed with faces. I met Norman Watt-Roy (a bass hero) and Mrs B met up with her go-go dancing mate, from The Teenage Werewolves.

Hanging around after and chatting with the performers at the bar is just one of The 100 Club's delights. Jim Jones is a star on and off stage.

Memory of the night has to be 78 year-old Lenny Kaye, on acid by his own admission, stripped to the waist (in deference to Iggy) crowd surfing through part of 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', whilst Brian James and Cheetah Chrome ripped the ****ing arse out it. Un-****ing-believable!!!!!!

    The best bit....

....we've got tickets for tonight, too!!!! "WELL, COME ON!!!!"

Not sure why the cameraman hates the rhythm guitarist, but other than that it was great.

Translates surprisingly well for a death metal classic.
