They were seriously thinking about it at the time and had someone lined up, but didn't in the end due to fan pressure.

From that moment, Mowbray knew he was on borrowed time. Sacking him and then appointing Beale because you couldn't get Will Still is another issue altogether. However if they had stuck to there original plan and got Farioli in the summer we would've cut out all the ****.

I cant accept that such a big decision as replacing the head coach in the summer was swayed by Fan Pressure. Thats just bizarre suggestion

That scott wilson piece is a horrific piece of journalism mind. Aye great idea for our owner to break the rules and announce that we have appointed an unnamed, in work coach. I despair that some of the fanbase agree with him.

The problem with this kind of opinion is that people only want a new head coach "now" until it's not the man they wanted. The same people who want a new coach now, will also claim it's the "cheap option" or a "yes man" when the new coach is someone who is currently unemployed.

The fact that Heckingbottom (a coach who got promoted from this division last year) is seen pretty widely by our fanbase as the worst of the realistic options shows just how high our expectations are. A large proportion of our fans who want a new coach now, probably think Steve Cooper is waiting by the phone, desperate to take the job.

We need to get the appointment right. That's the most important thing. We're hopefully talking about an appointment for the next 150 games, not just the next 6.

Because fans complained they didn't want Mowbray sacked.

They released it through Romano, like we usually do, and fan reaction wasn't the best so they pulled the plug. I'm not making it up, just Google it

It's a terrible piece. Just picks up on the over the top reactions and reiterates them, rather than offering any kind of insight or analysis.

Yep. Like you are talking about on a different thread, the lack of actual thought around football in this country astounds me. It's just a case of who can shout loudest.

Imo it was because of the negative reaction from fans and media.
Just my opinion but the way it panned out, that was probably what happened.

Sorry for being pedantic here but Job was known for his devotion to god not for being overly wise.
