Maybe they're looking at what he's done with his budget, starting from a pretty low base?

But I'm sure someone will be along stating its tokenism before long, as you're already preparing the ground for.

Surely if it goes off that then Lowe is the top choice? Given he’s much lower then us?

Preston lose 1m per month, which is more investment than our owners put in to June last year. They have a smaller average gate but they pay more. They also had an existing squad that's consistently in and around the playoffs. So has he really improved them?

Another thing about Lowe, he had an amazing start then went on a horrific losing streak and have only just hit form again since the likes of Ris have returned.

If folk on here are wanting Rosey out, then there's no way Lowe wouldn't have copped less stick on here than Rosey this season.

But we're not massively outspending Preston as you are seemingly suggesting, and we haven't been running consistently at their level prior to this season at least either.

That’s the norm of a band average championship side who don’t ambitiously invest to go to the next level. You only avoid it by selling big at the end of seasons like we/Boro/Coventry are doing

You clearly missed the part where I (well I didn't, it was Kieran Maguire) explained their board are investing more than ours to June last year.

They are investing the max, same as we are. But they've had that investment cumulatively over years, we've built from relegation candidates in 18 months.

We weren’t relegation candidates 18 months ago. We were incredibly poorly coached and underperforming, like now. (Underperforming not poorly coached)

We had the worst defence in all professional Divisions and heading for league 1 in November last year.

The year before that we were running an Allam budget with an Allam squad and points deductions made it more comfortable than it would have been.

November is hardly danger territory. Carrick/Cooper took relegation candidates to the play offs in the same time frame in the past 2 seasons.

Both with cumulative benefit of years of continuous investment. Both with more established squads at the level.

If it's low budget then why not the Preston manager for example?

I'm not preparing anything, it was a genuine question I'd be interested to hear the answer to as for the other 2 it's quite clear to anyone and tokenism for what?

They're putting in 12.5m per year. Year on year. We invested less than that in the last 2. Not only that, Preston were already established as a playoff pack side before this year, so it's hardly a tangible improvement on previous years .

I assume someone will be along trying to imply that it's the fact he's young, or accusing the nomination of being a tickbox exercise.

Basically anything but recognise the progress he's made. As again, you're very obviously preparing the ground for.

Well done Rosie. McKenna and Farke are clear contenders, Rosie's had us there or thereabouts all season coming from an uncertain starting point. I can't see another candidate for that 3rd place who's done much better than Rosie.

I really don't get what your trying to get at with tokenism or tick box though? If anyone really wanted to call it something it would be that he's well liked within the FA / EFL / pundits.

I'm not preparing anything I was asking out of genuine interest/intrigue as the other 2 are obvious and I think it would be really good if all these kind of things came with a piece about each nomination and reasons why etc as LR as far as I remember hasn't won the MOTM award once this season?

Been nominated a few times though. Maybe they've looked at it cumulatively.

Or maybe it's just that he's done a good job over the season ?

But if you don't recognise that, then you won't get it will you?

There's only one person with that sort of consistent agenda in this conversation.

Just because my views and opinions don't marry up with yours, do not mean I have an agenda. There's a lot of people who feel the same as I do about LR. Do they all have an agenda?

not all are cravenly desperate to deny him any kind of credit at all. Think some bandwaggoners have jumped on in the last month.

    And it's still a minority.
