. And that for me, is why I want rid. He can go end of the season. What is hard about selecting the best players and playing them in their correct positions? Why are Sports Republic so ****ing bad at this? Can't appoint a manager. Can't sign a striker. Their tenure has been an abject failure from start to finish
Yep said same in the pub after the Midds game. Seems a tad neg but if we’d shut up shop & won 1-0 we’d had been happy & a much better position going into yesterday’s game. .
The idiot made a crap decision leaving KWP out then when our second rate right back gets sent off the best right back in the league stays on the bench whilst our best ball winner in midfield is deployed in the rightback role. Am I missing something or is our so called coach /manager watching a different game to the rest of us? The sooner he goes the better. If by some small chance we win the play offs he should still go... We will have gone up inspite rather than because of his game management. I' d have more faith in us winning the play offs if he got the sack tomorrow.
Yeah he’s lost the plot. What’s funny. Is even as far back as the fans tactical forum thing, fans were saying bazunu isn’t good enough and that we need a settled side. (Oh and that we need a target man / striker, but we’ve all given up on that one) Why can everyone else see it except the donuts in charge of the club? None of this is a surprise to anyone. Joke really. They’d rather gaslight everyone than address the obvious flaws
They’re absolute dogshit. The bare minimum was promotion, to make up for their complete failure as soon as they came in. Happy to spend money but no idea how to do it effectively.
TBF it's not their job to identify transfer targets. That's down to the DOF and the manager. They can't be faulted with giving Wilcox and Martin the tools to build a promotion winning squad, while keeping within the financial rules.
Rookie owners with a lot of ambition and arrogance; it's no surprise they've made mistakes. As long as they learn from them, humble themselves, and keep Dragan interested, they'll get it right eventually. Even if it takes a few years; it will be more exciting than if Gao had stayed in charge, dragging us down into the nether-regions of the Championship.
Ankersen made a terrible mistake in the Nathan Jones debacle, but that's why Wilcox was brought in as DOF. I think the current structure is good, just to need to get Wilcox's replacement right.
Indirectly, he did. It was the lack of investment over the couple of seasons before we actually went down that did a lot of the damage.
I appreciate your angst and chagrin, we all feel the same way. It's not as if running a major professional football club is ever going to be easy, even if you throw money at it, especially if you have no experience in the organisation needed. Neither is there any point in looking for someone to blame. You can learn from history and avoid repeating mistakes, but you can't change it, that is just futile. Better if you concentrate on finding solutions and airing your ideas. Someone out there might have the answer? We may get a new broom, but that doesn't always end up with a clean sweep. Just hope we get a seriously good DOF who can make things better. We need a break, our fans don't deserve the way things have gone lately nor do our owners that have taken on the risk. IMO!
The main thing you want from an owner in my view is a money man. As long as you have someone who is willing to put the money in then the rest you hope will come, after all football is pretty much “who spends the most does the bestest”. Look at Everton as an example, Moshiri pumped 100s of millions into that club, but the football men made awful decisions on managers/players and they are still ****. Without that money being pumped in they would’ve gone down but they survive, season after season, because of the money man. As long as Solak is putting money in I’ll be happy. We might replace other people at board level but he is the important one
This. Our problems started when Gao was unable to pump money into the club. I think if it wasn't for Ralph we'd have gone down sooner.
You can only pump so much money in with these ridiculous FFP rules. All set up for the big 6 in the premier league. I’m sure Newcastle owners would love to spend heinous amounts of money but in all reality are probably going to have to sell this summer. And don’t even get me started on what Leicester will be like this summer.
Oh yeah there is limits of course, but there is also a big gap between spending close to our limit and spending **** all. And yeah FFP killed off any small clubs chance of regularly being in the top 6
