You can see why some of the Spanners crowd want Moyes out. Sitting back like this at home against a non top 3 opponent does not enthrall the supporter (more so in their "cup final" ) .
Agreed. We need to do better at changing the tempo after holding the ball a bit. If we can’t move the ball into dangerous areas before they settle then it’s about moving it around quickly then snapping the ball into a pocket when the defence shifts. We’re limiting them to set pieces which isn’t bad but overall too ponderous in possession. Hopefully the usual Ange rocket at halftime and maybe another change?
I disagree. He wasn't mobile enough nor do we have enough good crossers of the ball to get the most out of such a player. What we need is someone putting themselves about, strong and hard working, pulling defenders out of shape to open up those pockets of space in the final third. We have an abundance of players who thrive in those pockets, but no pockets. Weirdly enough, stick Michail Antonio in this Spurs system and I think we'd be laughing.
I disagree.... In part at least. He was a strong target man and those fizzed through balls through the middle would stick, whereas it's generally bouncing off Sonny.
We've scored more goals than at this stage in any PL season I think. Going to be good when we've got a proper striker....
Oh we’d be laughing alright, just not in the way I think you’d like. Only ever seems to score against us though, so there’s an argument for signing him just to stop that I suppose.
He makes an enormous difference to them, too. Shouldn't be that hard for either club to pick up someone with similar qualities, but it is.
