2020-21 season, in which they lifted the FA Cup, and the club-record loss of £92.5m a year later. If found guilty of breaking spending rules, which allows clubs to average losses of £35m per season in the Premier League, Leicester could face a points deduction. As the case, including any appeals, is likely to run beyond the end of this season, it means any sanctions, if applicable, will be enforced next season. Premier League sides Everton and Nottingham Forest have already been punished with points deductions this season for breaking rules. Leicester are also the subject of a separate financial probe by the English Football League (EFL), who then followed up the Premier League charge by imposing a registration embargo on the East Midlands club. The Foxes reacted by starting legal proceedings against both the EFL and Premier League.
Worst bit about all this is where they would serve their punishment. I'm sure i read that as it happened in the premier league any points deductions would be when they get back there. Which is wrong imo
You know more about financial regs than me mate, but to me they seem entirely unfit for purpose. Clubs have the benefit, real the rewards and then somebody says you broke the rules. Too late by far. Then they get a points deduction, but already have a squad better than those playing fairly. Cheats will continue to prosper in my opinion and I would wager the premier league want Leicester back and wont rock their boat once they are there.
I'm trying to find the article I read, but its a mad house here tonight. If its correct that their punishment will be in the premier league then makes it a farce as they will be denying a championship club a promotion based on financial doping. It's just wrong
I read something about them getting a point deduction if they are in the PL and a transfer embargo if they are in the championship
Would give anything for one more season in my late 20s. Getting down the stairs without swearing is a highlight these days.
lol your quote I reacted to read like the punk rocker with flowers in my hair. On the subject, I found both Leicesters title season very...... arranged whereby one got the feeling they were helped to win the league with other teams thinking "wouldn't it be good if Leicester won the league". Also this cheating FFP... been odd goings on for a while at that there club.
Because they still have the vast majority of that premier league squad in place, plus parachute payments and its a very unfair advantage over championship clubs trying to get promotion in my opinion
Exactly this.... looking like Everton & Forest will both stay up after being punished.....so cheating as still been worth the while for them & it will continue to happen until its made not worth the risk
