It would... If Arsenal have a perfect run without dropping any points. Which they might, but based on the season so far is probably not likely. On average the top three teams have been dropping points every third game. If we say the motivation for the top teams is higher now as season ends... But for certain other teams with nothing to fight for, motivation is less (which means the top three may win more than normal in the run-in)... maybe the top three teams only drop points every five games instead of every three... ... still.. The most likely scenario is that all three teams at the top will drop points at least once more. It isnt for certain... But it's likely. I think we have one more screw-up allowed between now and end of season... But two screwups may be one too many
Yeah, I didn't realise the date Yep, it's something they'd actually do. Fair play to ever came up with it, obviously got me
Winning all our games would give us 94 pts - recently it's looked like 88-89 would be enough to win it. So, 7-1-1 ought to do it - but again, it's all just speculation. I agree that all three are likely to drop points before the end.
i really don't see any scenario today where having 5 points dropped will deliver the title. 7-2-0 will be right imo. 8-1-0 required arsenal to drop more points as they have the gd on us and we have tonget that back this midweek.
I don't think it'll be down to GD. Besides, if we keep up our average I think we'll catch them anyway - they had a purple patch bagging a hatful of goals for a handful of games and I don't see that continuing. It's not so long ago that most projections were for mid 80's to win it, but as Milk mentioned, that doesn't take into account strong run-ins when it really counts, hence why I said 3 or 4 pts higher might be enough. Both we and City have a habit of ending the season strongly and I still think Arsenal are most likely to falter based on recent history, but that doesn't continue for ever of course. Anyway, I can't remember the last time there was a genuine 3-horse race for the title at this stage, and that has to be good for the PL. The very worst thing for the PL is a City procession to the title year after year. The thing I really, really don't want to happen is for the bastards to pip us by one point again.
projections are just projections. 8-1-0 wins over city. they can do nothing about that. city will not lose again imo, another draw would be doubtful. they have absolute piss easy games around the massive real madrid tie and also go the fa cup semi after that not spurs so it'll be about them getting through real tie and having a fixture pile up around the semis. 8-1-0 currently hands the title to arsenal. Will they drop points? a lot comes down to injuries and their cl campaign. villa and wolves around the bayern ties. spurs and utd away. again all 3 of us have the same European issues possibly and we really want the others to drop points before we do.
4 away games is going to be tough. Arsenal also have a tricky run in. City’s looks easiest by far. If we want to win this league, we need to win them all. Simples.
Well 8 and 1 draw. city can do nothing in thst case. but for me unless city have an injury run or real really tie them up in knows I cannot see them drop more than 2 points somewhere.
one thing to note about newcastle the howe disease has returned with the botman injury The single thing i was shocked baout last season was that howe had them defending well and they conceded few goals. This season looking at the table they have scored 63 which is just as good as city!!! they have however conceded 51 and you have to go down as far as bournemouth to find worse bar west sham who are also leaking goals like hell. It really just goes to show that solid defences get you a lot further than just socring goals.
did you see the goal? It was an abaoslutely rampaging gerrardesque run by morton and cross that set him up. good movement but a 6 yard tap in cos he got across his man. Morton though!!!! Meanwhile ramsay has been given another **** loan by the club who need to sort themsevles out. he would have been better at the u21s playing a few. 10 game time at all at bolton.
While everything's obviously in the air at the moment with the complete change over in the summer, I don't really see Carvalho being here nexr year; he'll either be sold or loaned again, possibly in January. Be interesting to see what happens with Morton. Competition in midfield could be fierce - him, Endo, Mac, Dom, Jones, Gravenberch, Bajcetic, Clark, McConnell...
I just do not see it either. I don't see an LFC player. I see a profit. Morton though is a crying shame. It really really depends on formation for me. 6. Endo, bajcetic (who has something to prove and could play rcb in a back 3) morton, mcconnell Lft side: Macca, Gravenberch, jones, clark Rgt side: Szoboszlai, elliott, macca again, morton? Trent? but if we go 343 with rimmer then we are down to two and that is going to cut the opportnuites for these players MASSIVELY. In that scenaior i don't see a role for elliott bar RW or jones or clark. theres 4 senriors in macca, szobo, endo and gravenberch there for 2 slots ebfore you put a player like morton down. I really think the next season will be one where we are sending some very young but very ready players out on loans to clubs who have to play them.
Why would we go 343 when we have the players brought for the last 10 years to play 433. Can’t see a manager coming in and going 5 at the back, fans won’t like it.
If amorim choses to? Thats his chosen fomration where he is. And i already said past managerial tactics is not a sure sign of future selection. Its not 5 at the back if you play midfielders out wide. Or trent WHO CAN'T DEFEND but seriously if its de zerbi then it'll not be that and it'd be more likley a pair of 6's would be selected who can ball play so the two full backs would be sent forward as well. if its someone else then who knows. Its only a discussion point on what I think "will" happen next as klopp is gone in hopefully 14 games with all won and 3 trophies in the bag.
