You do realise that's a dig at the powers that be rather than Charles right? He can't help it if we wasted that much money on someone who Martin doesn't want to play.
What telling the players to **** off and the manger to ****.off, yes they are so classy. I find you get better out of people ny setting an example
I still haven't changed with my view that Brooks is a better starter than a substitute. The problem is that Adam has been so good at RW that it's very difficult to not start him there. Maybe if Martin wasn't so wedded to 4-3-3, we could find a way to accommodate both of them? If ever there was a good chance to try out a few different things, it is these next few games. Barely anything riding on them. (I suspect we need just one more win to secure 5th - two wins at most).
Let .e raise you, did your see the 2007 and 2008 seasons on the Championship. They were dire.. Yes we ate slow at times, but compared to so.e if the shot we have endured, so many of you re so funking entitled
Brooks has been absolutely powderpuff tbh. Makes us so weak defensively. I see why Martin only wants to use him as an impact sub. As soon as Downes gets tired we are a nothing team. We lose the midfield. That plus having one of the the worst keepers in the championship means we throw away game after game.
At the sMe time, you need to have the intelligence when to seize the game. The more I watch the less I seem.of that sadly
For me, an attacking impact sub needs to add either pace or power (or height). Brooks adds neither. I think he's quality, but as a sub he generally offers little. Bazunu isn't the only reason why we've dropped points in nine separate games this season. But he's one of the reasons. If someone offers decent money for him in the summer (there are enough managers out there who favour a ball-playing keeper over a shot-stopping-keeper), then I would cash in. It's not like we'll have too many attractive sellable assets.
I'm sure he can. He's certainly an option which probably should have been tried by Martin if he wasn't so stubborn
I said to to the very lovely Mrs Godders at half time that Martin should not be allowed in the dressing room to talk to the players as he'll just come out with his usual bullshit and they'll be ultra cautious in the second half. Russell Martin is the equivalent of General Montgomery always sitting back and giving away the initiative.
Even the best managers get the subs wrong sometimes. It’s frustrating, and it wasn’t happening so much during our unbeaten run when things were going our way. Where I think RM has really ****ed up is in deciding Stephen’s must play and ****ing around with the defence constantly to shoehorn him in. And his weird dislike of Charles has cost us in multiple games too imo, particularly when Downes was out, but adding in a second DM when the game is going against us or replacing Downes when he’s blowing is an option that we need, and Charles offers that. We really shouldn’t have bought him if Martin doesn’t rate him as along with the Stewart signing, it was a massive waste of our limited resources. £20m? on two players that don’t play for one reason or another. Crazy. Martin does overcomplicate things at times too. Dropping KWP today may or may not have made any difference to the final result, but regardless, it’s the kind of overthinking batshit crazy decision that helps no one. Between now and the playoffs we need to figure out our defence and give it the run of games it needs while also not overplaying our most important players. I’m not that pissed about today’s game as it was obvious that’s how the game would go and we’ve been well off the pace for a while. Millwall was where the majority of my remaining hope died.
Yes. He’s ****. I want saints to win games. Yet we have a ****ing **** useless keeper who hasn’t made a save for 2 years
It was a brilliant performance and if we play like that between now and the end of the season we will be fine," he continued. "It gives me huge amounts of confidence and encouragement about what is to come. We played brilliantly tonight, nobody can say anything else. "I am not saying it’s not a blow, it hurts a lot, but we will only know how much of a blow it was in four weeks.
Just putting this here, as it's easy to blame "shoehorning in Stephens". I do agree with many of your other points though.
I don't think it's even being a poor loser. He's annoyed when people have the audacity to suggest we aren't playing well, or question his tactics even when it's painfully obvious. To be fair it's not like the Swansea fans didn't warn us.
