I have to agree Nig. I've defended Speakman resolutely on here, but he has got so much wrong this season that I now feel he should move on. Our form since November has been atrocious. His choice of Head Coach was awful and his last 3 transfer windows have been very poor. The team look devoid of confidence and ideas. The performance against Cardiff was an exception.

Thank God there's only 6 games left. We need to regroup in the summer. New Head Coach and new DOF.

Judging by how many were left in the stadium with half an hour to go and the constant booing of our own team I’d say so. It’s not just a bad day at the office it’s happened far too much this season.

 

Sunderland fans are Sunderland fans. Drinking in the vaults doesn’t give supporters an elevated status or make their opinions anymore valid.

That’s been shocking though. If you’re an opposition manager it’s ’wait for them to overplay and lose it in midfield - pressure pressure until they cave in and then break in numbers’. We have to play a formation that prevents it. Dodds was massively at fault today. Not changing it up as it was obvious what was happening. Roberts was ****e but Dodds should never have left him on.

People used to discuss things. Now it's just blinkered, arrogant finger pointing, driven by some weird personal dislike.

 

I think it's underestimated how much money we've actually spent to be languishing in 14th now. That's why Speakman should be removed from his role.

The squad building has been baffling. Leaving some positions weak and low on numbers while stockpiling other positions.

We don't have a set formation or style of play, which is one of the first things a DoF should be implementing. Should be one formation and one style of play from the first team right down to the academy so that players are constantly being developed in the 'Sunderland way'. But we just aren't doing that. We've had about 5 different formations this season and probably the same amount of styles of play. The DoF needs to recruit for a certain style but we don't do that, we have players which want to play on the counter, then players who are possession based, and then players like Hjelde for example who can't pass the ball. What is the plan?

Speakman has made things so difficult for himself unnecessarily by not addressing needs.

Needs to be replaced, KLDs legacy is on the line.
