Leicester were also helped (if that is the right word) by conceding quite early. It gave them plenty of time to benefit from playing at a greater intensity thereafter. Whereas when we concede, it's often in the second half, thereby leaving us with much less time (and sometimes barely any time) to wake up and inject intensity.
Their entire midfield trio would. It would walk into every other Championship team, and a decent number of PL teams. If they don't get promoted, it will be a total failure by them. But I remain convinced that they will. Their only weakness is their style of play which leaves them horrendously open at the back. But that's no weakness at all in matches like today, when the opposition plays a deep 4-4-2 with everyone camped in their own half. Awful tactics from Norwich, from the very first minute.
Until Leeds and Ipswich KO, the top 3 have all played 39 games. Leicester 85pts, Ipswich 84pts, Leeds 83pts. If we win our two games in hand, we’d be at 80pts after 39 games.
Not only those two. We don't have a CAM even close to Dewsbury-Hall. Charly was supposed to be that man. Plus Fatawu is better than our wingers. Vardy, Daka, Ihaenacho and Cannon as their striker options, madness. Winks would get into our team.
Norwich were utter garbage today. But we haven’t beaten all the garbage sides this year and Leicester have.
Another two goals already for Szmodics. 29 for the season, league and cup. in 42 games. (For Blackburn!)
Ipswich tried to sign him last summer, but got outbid by Coventry. Just imagine if Ipswich had his goals too! Although when I say "outbid", it was only to the extent that the final deal was around the £6m mark - potentially rising to £8m if he fires Coventry to promotion. Whereas we spent £10m on a crocked striker.
Coventry with all 3 goals in their game with Cardiff. Problem is two of them were own goals…and from the same player
Quite happy with that. Both from the perspective of where Leeds might finish and where Hull might finish.
I wouldn't be surprised if all three of them hit the 100 point mark now. All three had tough games today, and they have all won.
