Another late slimmed down thread today I'm afraid folks, too many beers/wines with the family yesterday at Easter Sunday lunch and then down the pub afterwards with Mrs Brizzle and Brizzle junior meaning that my time to write this got bocked out by Mr Moretti and friends.....

Our chastened Royal Blues take the relatively shot trek up to the midlands to take on the higher flying Sky Blues in a game that probably means little to us apart from pride and a chance to experiment ahead of next season, but for Robbie and Co. this represents a very real chance to maintain hopes of a play-off and cup final double (good luck with your semi Robbie - just don't let Masky offer to help you with it!!).

With the Sky Blues sitting in 7th spot and having a game in hand, whilst being on another decent run (3 wins on the bounce now), it'll rally be a tall order for Bulut and the boys to come away with anything from the CBSA today.

    CCFC Form GUide.jpg

Last time out of course saw the Bluebirds come out as 3-2 victors in an entertaining game at the CCS (and one that I had the pleasure of taking a Coventry supporting work colleague along to - he'll be at the CBSA today as that'll give him his 'stamp quota' for a semi-final ticket).

EROL BULUT SPOKE TO THE PRESS AHEAD OF our EASTER MONDAY FIXTURE AWAY at COVENTRY CITY.

“We’ve been in this situation before where we’ve had a negative series of results, but we’ve come back from them,” Erol began. “That time we had injuries, and it was a little bit different. We will look back at videos from Friday and see what we can do better.

"We spoke about how in the Ipswich game we were 1-0 down, but we woke up and we were able to change it. Against Sunderland we had enough time to change things, but we couldn’t get our confidence back.”

City defeated the Sky Blues 3-2 back in mid-September thanks to goals scored by Dimitrios Goutas, Karlan Grant, and Kion Etete.

“We can look back and see which players we had available against Coventry back then. It was early in the season, and we had most players with us, not many had injuries.

"When you look at the whole season, our performances have been too up and down, so this also breaks our way of playing a little bit.

When we can have consistent performances, maybe we could have a few more points, but we can’t forget how we started the season and pre-season with players, punishments, only able to sign a couple of players. It was not an easy period.”

“Coventry play a good game. They didn’t start the season very well, with a couple of negative results as well, but now they’re in a good mood.

"They won on Friday, but this doesn’t say anything. Sunderland hadn’t won their last six games, but it was different against us.

"We have to be concentrated and focused on those moments in the game, then everything will change. We have to be back where we were against Ipswich.”

Erol concluded: “The fans are as disappointed as us for sure, more than us, because they come and support us everywhere, home and away.

“They’re great when we travel, and we want to give them as much as possible; to give everything for the three points. The very least we can do is to fight, run, and try, and to not give up early.”

So can the Bluebirds upset the odds and bring home anything? It's a really touch ask against a free scoring and in form Coventry side but who knows, could those semi-final thoughts just start to creep into the home teams' minds?????

Whatever the scoreline - safe travels to anyone heading up and good luck Robbie & Co. for the rest of the season after this one.

Thanks again Brizzle and I concur with much of your opinions regarding the season.
Let's give it a real go for 112 minutes (allowing for the Coventry factor) and let's see what we can do.
Ramsey from the start today I hope.

Hope you're having a good time Brizzle.

Well done, brizz, you could almost be a Sky Blue with that depth of knowledge, far more than some of the numpties that ‘support’ us.
That’s the spirit cling, don’t think for one minute the game will finish at 90 mins
plus Leigh Doughty is reffing, so anything can happen.
I wouldn’t be overly upset with a draw tbh.

Just looked again brizz, you need less Mr Peroni, cos your adding up has gone to pot. We have the same amount of points from the last 6 games, and goals for = 12, against = 7.
    Sorry for being pedantic.

Very magnanimous of you Robbie. We would be f'in' delighted (and surprised, except Clingo) with a draw.

Good luck for the rest of the season after today. <ok>

Just realised they were Erol's opinions and not yours <doh>. I must read thoroughly.

We surely can’t be anywhere as bad as we were versus those down there and then even worse v Sunderland.

Oops, in my haste to get the thread up I forgot to update the totals...... Your results were right though hopefully???

Have always had a soft spot for Coventry since the '87 cup final with ex-Bluebird Davey Bennett getting on the score sheet...
Still one of my all-time favourite cup finals.

Tough game for us today.... Can't see us coming away with anything...

    Anyone seen the team?

Not sure what’s the point of picking that starting eleven.

My team looks nicer than your team!
Got a nice photo of Turnbull and pretty graphics.
Let’s face it, your team looks boring!

I suppose when your team has been totally crap for the last two games, you have to do something. But no starts for Ramsey and O'Dowda doesn't seem right. Seems daft if he's going to leave them to rescue an irretrievable situation again.
    But what do I know.

Ok, bit bored, so here is a hyperthetical, based on current score.
I didn't put a scorer down for us.
Given nobody from our team has scored, am I currently sitting on a point?
